Good morning Rich .. I thought as long as I was watching tornadoes pass by this morning I thought I'd stop in to see what you were doing ... a walking... running ... heron ... nice shot .. As to your comment about mine ,.. yes I only take pictures of this heron who performs on request .. unless he is occupied prying fish away from one of the human fishermen ....
Nice shotrs.. we never saw Bluebirds in the yard until I started giving the Red Breasted Woodpecker Bark Butter .. then we had two or three pair that regularly come to share that treat ...
Well Mother Nature pulled a good April Fools Day joke on us!
8" of heavy fresh snow.
That's more than most car's clearance
Now that I've shared - I'll have to go clear my drive and my neighbor's.
Enjoy your nice spring weather everyone.
Happy April Fools Day.
Good to see Roy. That said, why? Is it damaged from storms or is this a result of harvest? Remember we know nothing about what is involved in growing this crop. I understand the harvest of coffee beans and bananas but this is out of my knowledge base!
You need to get a larger snowblower Jim! Either that or move to someplace where they do it for you! Or maybe just pay some kids to do it. That is a lot of snow! We got about two inches on Thursday but nothing like what you have. Yesterday was 9 C!!! Today it seemed pretty warm as well as I went out to fill the feeders.
All that white stuff is pretty to look at but not all that much fun to get rid of. I don't think my car would get through that but the Toyota Rav4 would. Don't have the big one by overdoing it!
Thanks for your concern Andrew. This was the largest snowfall of the season, ours are more typically and inch or two, sometimes 4. I haven't checked, but, I'd guess this was the largest snowfall in several years. This snow blower did the job - I'm not going to waste the money or garage floor space on a larger one.
Hire kids to do it? Ha! Kids don't work anymore. And moving to someplace they do it for me is out of the question since such places wouldn't accommodate my wife's gardening addiction.
I have been waiting for over 20 years for the sky walk to happen in Sequoia Park in Eureka. Of course, it opened in the middle of 2021 and I've waited for the threat of covid to decrease. This is the first time I've seen it.
Not high here, but it spans the low drainage and gets quite high.
Big burl. 5 panel stacked pano.
Swinging bridge over the creek. Turns out it gives a lot.
Poor girl freaked and froze in the center. I may have jumped up and down on the bridge to make her sway and bounce. That's her boyfriend on the other end, laughing.
Let's see if this works. Here goes. Rich
Cool! Does it carry you safely though? Some parts looks quite fragile. 😛
I've waited for 40 years for a safe bike lane to a neighbouring town. We were promised one 5 years ago but we'll probably have to wait 5 more years for them to get started . I don't usually mind going on the road, but the particular road is deadly, even by car. Lots of accidents.
That looks like fun Rich.
Walking suspension bridges are really tough to take photos from, particularly when you are in the middle and it's in use by others!
I'd love to walk among the big trees like that.
Maybe I'll have to make a trip there sometime.
Thanks for the tip Charlotte.
Why did I never think of that?
I use Google Chrome, and after reading your post did a quick check.
Several say they do, but didn't work for me (well one did once on one of Rich's photos, but then wouldn't work again).
I'll have to search further because it would be nice to just hover over a photo and see it's EXIF
(I really liked that in DPReview).
Edit: No need to search - Exify works for Chrome too - that's really slick! Thanks Charlotte. 2nd Edit: It works on the copy of Rich's photo I put in my post but not on his original postings - strange.
It also didn't work on the images I posted earlier in the post, but worked on the enlarged view created in a different tab when clicked on.
But, this didn't work on Rich's images. Very Strange.
