I almost missed these great shots .. I've visited a similar site in Atlanta where injured bird are take to recover or retire ... You might consider moving these over to Andrew's new sub forum ... while these long posts are great for viewing images not so great for these conversations .. Maybe post twice once to a long thread and once to a single thread for this picture .. just a thought ..

Thanks, WhyNot. Can you tell me where Andrew's new sub forum is located. I don't know which you mean. Rich

Looking at CATEGORIES ..under the Olympus, Panasonic, and Micro Four Thirds entry there is a sub forum named "The weekly M4/3 Talk"
where we've already tried to start this migration ... The sub forum becomes this thread ....

    WhyNot

BTW the drop down under "All Subcategories' on the menu in this forum also lists that sub forum to help navigation ....

I also missed them Rich. They are very nice. We visited the National Eagle Center in Wabasha MN last fall - they have several injured eagles there too. One was blind in one eye so can't fly, the others had broken wing bones or some such that didn't heal well enough for them to fly. Otherwise, they help injured birds recover and release them to the wild again.

It is a new field, this is a virgin part of the farm, and I’m open to plant cardamoms, the plants beguin to produce at the second year of planting, in full production around 4 years……that is 20 to 25 pounds per plant a harvest, the new field is about 35 hectares and the we plant in a grid of 4 by 4 meters…..so do the math…..

    Thanks for the explanation Roy!
    Andrew

Good to see Roy. That said, why? Is it damaged from storms or is this a result of harvest? Remember we know nothing about what is involved in growing this crop. I understand the harvest of coffee beans and bananas but this is out of my knowledge base!

Is that a new avatar Rich?? Or, just larger?

I have to say if the traffic over there does not pick up I will be very disappointed! It is looking glum!

I sent out 21 boiler plated emails individually explaining the entire thing. Nada!

I am going away in the morning for a couple of days to a hockey tournament in Whitby, Ontario for the OMHA playoff weekend. I don't have access to the gmail address on my mobile devices because I don't know the log in name or password. My windows computer refuses to show them to me so the only way to gain access will be to ask for a reset. I will do that after I get back if I have not figured out another way to get the information. So I may not get back home until the 9th and dpr will be shutting the doors.

It is the same old avitar, Andrew. The crop I was using was gone and I re cropped it a little different. I'm thinking about switching to a newer picture. I sure look different. With the full beard I look disreputable to some, they move on, and that's what I want. My attorney told me yesterday that I don't sound like I look. I told here thank goodness I don't look like I sound.

I got your email. It was clear and helpful. I am demoralized about our forum, too. I was having fun making more pictures than I needed then picking out which I'd post. That really kept my busy. I haven't made many pictures since the news broke about DPReview. I think your thread within DPReview had some physical force holding it together. Like the weak force, the strong force, electromagnetism and gravity. I wonder if it was a one time thing. It's like a loved one dying. You will never get over it, but you can get used to it. The conclusion of my other business is looking good and close. Once that is behind me I will be able to concentrate fully on being miserable about DPReview.

I hope you have fun and good luck at the playoffs. I see that Whitby is a long way from you and you get to drive through Toronto, oh joy!
Looking for and old picture to put here. At a car show, 1957 Buick Roadmaster. I wouldn't have got this view if not a convertible with top down. It stopped me cold and I was back in 1957, in the back seat looking out the windshield over that dashboard. A whole month. We drove east from L.A. to the southern end of the Rockys in New Mexico, then north, crossing over them several times all the way to Lake Louise, then SW to Vancouver, then all the way down the coast back to L.A. I'd like to do that again, but only if I could go back and do it again as an eight year old. Rich

    Andrew,

I received one of your 21 boiler plated emails and was left a bit confused. My only excuse is that I am unfocused in most parts of my life these days and DPRevived has added to this. I am very disoriented on this site right now. Thank you for trying.

Rich certainly projects a boyish look in his revised avitar.

I think it will work for now, Andrew. I agree with Rich that the loss of the weekly touch has sort of a dampening effect though. It takes a little more to post an individual thread and I liked how the weekly thing sort of held everything together and provided both a context and a time frame. Hopefully we can get back to that at some point. We'll try to make the best of it for now.

I got your email, and I've participated in the new thread.
Just haven't been taking many new photos, and, I agree the flat format and loss of the weekly restart make it less appealing.

Interesting - looks to be planted on a very steep slope above a couple big ponds with a little reflection in the pond. Is that right, or is the dark area just real deep shadow?
