That's a hell of a lot of fossils from such a small area...

I am fascinated by Geology too. I knew some areas inland from where I am had some semi-precious gems and some small pockets of gold (long gone now). When researching with a view to maybe looking for some gems I came across a complete geological synopsis of the greater area. It was all under water a long time back too so a lot of old sedimentary. Then there was a long period of upliftment and volcanic intrusion. 70 or so k's north of here there was a super volcano so there is a large area of basalt up that way.
Years ago when surfing Indonesia, we stayed for a few days at a place called Lake Toba on Sumatra. I just thought it was a large mountain lake (maybe 80k's long and up to 30k's wide with a big island taking up about half that area). I was intrigued by some steep eroded cliffs around a lot of the shoreline. When I looked it up sometime later I discovered that it was a single super volcano. The island was the plug!!!
    Keep your eye on Yellowstone...

I think it must be six years since I was last in England. This time I drove and took the cross-channel ferry.

That works really well as a pano.

Agree the format works well, and the colour of the sea is good.
I like the way the sun is shining on the left hand side and lighting up the sun facing parts of the cliffs.
When viewed from the sea, like in your photo, they're a sure sign that you're approaching England.
By the way, I zoomed in to find a helicopter in the middle too.
I walked along those cliffs in one of my last visits. Quite impressive!

Good depth in this one; from the foreground heather, past the craggy rocks, all the way out into the distance.
The house in the middle sellling coffee and ice cream is a nice goal to hike to :-)

Definitely worth looking for landscape shots in Australia; I've seen several beautiful and interesting photos! Unfortunatly I've never visited myself though.
Forests can have a huge variety of tones, sometimes they are just all dark green almost black, but do change as the light changes. You can chose how you want to display them on your photos by chosing the time of day. It's always possible to play with the tone curves in pp as well
I took the liberty of editing this shot, hope you don't mind.
Cropped a bit to make the forest appear bigger in the image, so you can better see the details and variety. Also brightend it some what.
The water looks now more red/brown I guess it was a sort of peaty lake ?

The "horizon" is in the middle of the image which doesn't always work, but with a reflection in the lake like here, it works fine.
...anyway here is my take on the image, all just personal preferences of course
