Very peaceful scene. This makes me want to grab my waders and fly rod and spend the day.

You know, I like this photo. But it's all wrong -- central composition and the top half of the tree cropped and half a tree trunk bordering on the left. "Should have been" framed wider and/or angled up a bit. So all wrong. But I like it. I can't say why I like it, but I like it. : )
Looking in both directions at a river on a bridge often gives surprisingly different views. The view is clearly different, but the light can make an even bigger difference to the two images.
There's a nice, peaceful Autumn feeling to both of these. I like those leaves floating gently on the water.
By the way the name of "my" river in this week's thread is almost the same, "Ager" ; which is pronounced practically the same in German ;-)
Great that you like the weekly thread, and found something to post. The "spectrum" of what "landscape" means in the weekly thread is indeed very wide :-)
The dam looks good!
The way you've composed it gives lots of depth to the shot, and you can see how it fits into the landscape. Lots of interesting details to explore too.
There's a lot of hydroelectric power generated in Austria too. A good feeling to be able to use clean energy :-)
The pano shows clearly just how much water is behind that dam. A lot !
And it helps to "tell the story"
if you click on the image, and then click on the "download" button, it will open a new window with a full resolution version of the image. This has better colours and contrast and usually looks a lot better than the "thumbnails" that are displayed directly in the thread.
The thumbnails are however not so bad, they were recently upgraded on this site and now have a better resolution and rendering than before , but the full res version is still better :-)
great image, you can feel the power!
I like the title too!
in German there is a similar phrase ; "Steter Tropfen höhlt den Stein"
It sort of, also means,... in an encouraging way ; "Keep trying you'll get there in the end"
...but this photo is already there ;-)
Yep, fits in nicely with this week's ad hoc watery theme ;-)
Really like the image.
It has a lot going for it, but the highlight are those long grasses catching the light in the foreground, and shining out against the darker water.
I love the way the light is catching the waves. Lots of details to explore. The colours are fresh and bright.
This looks much better when viewed in full res on a big screen. The small image on my phone didn't look anywhere near as impressive!
"S" shaped curves are always good, I like the texture of the "tiled" walls of the canal too. And bridges are good subjects.
Not sure I would have taken this shot though, it looks OK, but I'm definitely just a bit too picky, ...
...when it comes to something almost like a pile of junk in middle of the shot. But I guess that's more "my problem" ;-)
Weekend playing hockey in Rome (that's real hockey, not ice hockey 😁) and only had my phone...

Subzero
On Saturday it was sub-zero when I went for photo walk. Smaller ponds were already covered with ice, so this scene caught my attention while looking for birds. As afterthought I now realize that I should have taken it from lower position to get rid of centered horizon and leave more space for sky and clouds. Oh, well, next time maybe..
As you and Woodsider pointed out I might have broken a few "rules" here ;-)
...but if you like it, I guess it must have worked.
I wanted to put the viewer right into the scene almost into the water, and make the little frost covered spit, where the two rivers join, more prominent.
I think the middle is a good place for something that has a reflection, gives a sort of pleasing symmetry.
I did take a wider shot, too on that day I'll post that below and you can see what works best for you. It does have its merits and the light is nicer :-)
There is more going on, so it sort of tells a different story.

The phones these days are realy quite good. Easy to carry with you and produce some good results, and all the hard work of pp is done more or less for you inside the phone. The images do tend to show their origins if you zoom right in and pixel peep on a big monitor, but they are fantastic for capturing the scenes and sharing in social media.
I like the second here best, nicely framed and looks like a beautiful day !
Did you win the hockey game ?

The light is great here. The sky is interesting, it's the darker foreground that make those yellow fields sing out
I know what you mean about the horizon, some people have strong feelings about it ;-)
There's a great scene about this in the film "The Fabelmans" where our young hero wants to learn from a great movie director and has to wait for hours before he's finally let-in for only a few precious minutes, then...
