Mt. Rainier from TTP. I opted not to go back in the archives! Today was clear/dry and sunny, so I decided to clean my roof and gutters. It took half the day! When I was done, I walked down to the end of the street, and took a picture of Mt. Rainier. It was getting late in the afternoon, so I missed the best sun. Yes, I am fortunate to have this "landscape view" nearby. Always fun to take the pic and fiddle in post.... i.e., level, crop, and there was some vignetting that I tried to clean-up a little bit (I was using the 24-120). Also, a small airliner on final to SEA RWY 34L (most likely). I think it is an A319. Or maybe an E175 or an A220. Seeing the snow on the mountain, I am looking forward to skiing this winter. Hopefully I will be able to get up there a few times this year... and maybe take the camera? I would then have to ski much more carefully! LOL.

Follow-up... rest assured, "LOL" was for the Fuji and the fun you are having with it! :-) A "good" LOL. The "LOL" was NOT in regard to the Z8 (that's a bummer). I am shooting with the D810 and have a NEW D850 sitting in a box (for the past 6 months) that I need to unpack and get set-up!!! Got it when B&H was have a great deal and could not pass it up (same price as many of the 2nd hand units I was looking at). But I just haven't had the time! The D810 is no slouch, so I suppose that's another reason why I am taking my time. Of course, I would have really liked to get the Z8, but decided to stick with the the old-fashioned mirror alternative and the old fashioned lenses that I have. Hopefully I won't open the D850 box and discover that the camera has a sensor problem! I'd better get to it! LOL. :-)

Thank you. I actually did darken down the reflection a bit- not much. Might be worth going back and editing a bit more. Thinking I'll be posting a bit more here moving forward after the recent change at dpreview. Even though this is also flat view here, I find it easier to navigate with a simpler layout compared to dpreview.

Love the mood and the tangle of trees act like leading lines in a cool way. I agree with other thought about maybe cropping a touch off the left to get rid of that white spot in the top corner.

Nice. I like both of them but #1 is really cool. I am not familiar with "Reala Ace base" but the reflection looks good. My PP is pretty basic. I take a lot of "landscape" pictures with the 80-400G. Granted, 81mm is not "a lot of tele" but still, it makes for a very engaging perspective! The bridge is also neat. Would be fun to know the history of the bridge. Location?

The stacked sensor is more complex and more complex to fab. There is communication between the layers so more opportunity for data to get corrupted. So I expect the failure rate between the of the stack sensor is higher than the BSI sensor. It sucked. On the other hand it forced me to concentrate on the RF on the trip. There were a few times, a bachelor herd of big horn sheep on the walls of Hell's Canyon that I needed the Z8 and my Tammy 50-400 for. It cost the same as when my wife dribbled her XH2 on a gravel road taking it off a tripod and destroyed the rear display. The good news is - the repair was not as expensive as I thought it would be and I have an insurance policy on my camera equipment.

I like it.
That's certainly a great view to have, and opens up the chance for "local photography" which is so much better than travelleing to some exotic place, just to be limited by whatever weather happens to be there, when you arrive.
With local photography you can go back again and again, anytime you like, and take photos when the weather, and the time of day, and the sunset or whatever opens the possibility for fantasic images.
Exotic places are good, but local is better ;-) -

I've had quite a bit of success myself with panos in the past. It is a great technique to get a huge resolution in a big image.
Overlapping more, sounds like a good method, thanks.
As Woodsider mentioned, the banding I saw in this particular image was probably caused by vignetting (where more overlapping would help too)
I'll take a look at the particular lens, and the settings that I used, to see how bad the vignetting is with this lens.
Maybe just stopping down some more would help too.
And correcting the images (if necessary) before stitching seems like another good tip. Thanks for that too!
In the meantime, the sky replacement used here worked well enough to save this image :-) -

Thank you. Reala Ace is the film simulation I used as a starting point on my Fuji X-T5. Classic Negative was the film simulation starting point for the bridge image. The bridge itself is an old section of Hwy. 101 over Jordan Creek through part of Northern California. It's located at the northern end of the Avenue of the Giants scenic drive that parallels the modern 101.

Threaded view would be amazing. I saw a few posts about it from Alan I think while re-familiarizing myself with the current layout/forums here. I do appreciate the focus on images here, and plan to stick around.

Yep, threaded view is just easier to follow which usually results in more engagement. But alas, it seems not many commercial S/W platforms support it today. This site offers something unique, however, the concentration on imagery not equipment. It gets a bit tiresome wading through continual whining about camera interfaces, dials vs. PSAM etc. seen on other sites.

Thanks for the info! I have been MEANING to get down to the Redwoods for a LONG time... but even with these good intentions (for the past 50 years).. I still haven't been there. I need to do it. I have driven down the coast as far as North Bend / Coos Bay, but not the piece between southern Oregon and San Francisco.
