For Fireplace - I was able to go skiing (finally). A lot of fun and some good exercise. I'm always doing my best to try and imitate Jean-Claude Killy! I guess that an indicator of how old I am. LOL. Snowfall is definitely lacking this season. Hopefully we will start catching-up in the next few weeks. Night skiing is a "thing" around here since the close-in ski area is only about a 45 minute drive form the city. So, if you bring your gear with you to work, you can get off at 17:00, hit the freeway, and be on the slopes by 18:00. The chair lifts operate until 21:30 or 22:00. So there is plenty of time to enjoy. Of course, with a "real" camera I did not want hassle with a a tripod, etc. -- so the only "proof" I have is this cellphone picture! I will get up to the mountains again this winter in the daytime and bring a "real" camera. :-) I realize this is not a "landscape" photo per se -- just wanted to post it!

There were maybe 5 or 6 people there. It's in a remote area to begin with, and has some challenges to accessing. During part of the year, the columns/shore is under water when the lake rises. If one does NOT have high-clearance/4-wheel drive it's about a 2 mile hike from trailhead parking- without any shade/cover. The final part of the hike is a steep drop that one needs to be mindful of their health. There is a secondary route (which I used) that is also high-clearance/4-wheel drive required- but gets closer to the columns along the beach with a level walk.

Here is a decent website that talks about getting there- californiathroughmylens.com/crowley-lake-columns/

I think most of Hwy 395 as a photographers paradise. Bodie ghost town, Alabama Hills, Autumn in the Eastern Sierra's. So many amazing exploring opportunities!

That's a fabulous cityscape, with a great backdrop.

I really like this one. Beautiful winter light and raking shadows. The tree trunks on the right feel a bit 'heavy', but make a good framing effect. Not sure if I would prefer it without... probably not 😁

I like it too! Lovely gentle colours from that winter light

This is a great feeling. What a beautiful view through that window, perfect framing.
Good timing too with the bird in a perfect position.
I guess you used some HDR technique to get enough details visible in the rocks as well?

I've never been to Barbados, sounds very exotic!
Nice to show both a distant wide angle view and a more detailed closer shot with the pretty flowers around the small lake and the lush green grass

These are amazing formations, never seen anything like this before. They Look almost like Roman built columns in ancient Turkey.
    Well taken !!
Just looked up the interesting volcanic origin.

I really like this! In my ideal world, there wouldn’t be any aircraft vapour trails… Many, many years ago, I remember hearing Ansel Adams discussing the difficulty of capturing wide open skies without them - and that was in the 1970’s when there weren’t nearly so many of them.

    Best wishes

    A

I think the light is fine. There's a lot of interesting details in this pano with the harbor and the city, and it even includes the famous mountain in the background :-)
Your stitching technique worked well here!

    Hi WolfsHead,
    Nice to see your feedback.
The detective in me thinks this is probably a reply to softmarmotte.
If you hit the "Quote" button instead of the "Reply" it would show which image you're referring too :-)

Us old guys have to work hard to keep fit ;-)
I've never done night skiing before, you'd get eaten by these monsters if you stay out too late here ;-)

I think you are probably right...Not a fan of vapour trails but we have a sky full of everyone else's aeroplanes flying above Belge. Corona was a better time...sigh

No, just Lightroom and some shadow enhancing.
