    The Weekly Street Photography Thread
Welcome to the street photography weekly thread.
We start it on Fridays. We are hoping to get your images and hear what other members think about them.
It is open to all members of the forum; members can post a single image or a selection of images on a theme in a single post. Multiple posts are allowed.
What constitutes street photography has always been debatable. There are several opinions about it, and we do not want to restrict participants. You can post whatever you deem fits into the genre; however, please be prepared to hear criticism as well.

    Guidelines:
    1. We aim to increase the popularity of street photography and encourage our fellow photographers to be more interested in the genre.
    2. Give your photo a title and include any other information you think is relevant. I personally love to know why you made this photo, what attracted you to make it, and why you like it. But this is NOT MANDATORY.
    3. A single image or a theme-based group of images are allowed. No multiple posts, please.
    4. If you post an image, that means you are ready to hear feedback.
    5. We want to hear your thoughts about others’ posts.
    6. Please keep all posts civilised and polite.
    7. Unless specifically stated otherwise by the original poster, please do not modify the images.

    Not Just Any Pawn Shop

US folk but probably nobody else may recognize it from its long running TV show "Pawn Stars". It's a basic part of American reality TV culture. I think it appeals mostly to men. It's in Las Vegas though not on the strip, but a less prosperous looking section of town.

The escalators at The Canary Wharf tube station. The station offers ample opportunities for photography. I took this shot a while ago and revisited it today.

Know that a lot of your reality (and otherwise) TV culture is exported around the world. And a lot of countries make their own versions as well - sometimes with hilarious results to those who don't know the nuances of the local culture.

I'm not posting the same thing twice, but here's a link to a street walk I did yesterday in Chester.

I liked the depth of the composition and the colours. One subject is too close to the frame, though. Perhaps you cropped it this way or framed it. It’s a nice, pleasing photo.

This photo is interesting because of the subject isolation, framing, and emotional hug. It feels like they are starting a long and tough journey together.

I'm still trying to figure out the meaning or the mural/grafitti.

A good use of a reflective surface. As the panels are facing different directions, it gives a sense of ambiguity.

    A passion for tea

    P6011585.JPG

I just came back from a trip to Poland and the friend I met up with took me to his favourite tea shop. As a tea fanatic, I really appreciated the staff taking their time to advise customers, inclusing this guy, who spoke of tea with a true passion.

I love tea, especially black tea, so I’m not surprised about his passion. The strong hand gesture is evident, but the composition doesn’t fully convey the emotion you felt. The harsh backlighting and partially blocking structure make the composition less successful.

The composition is beautiful, featuring narrow cobblestone roads with intricate geometry and architecture.
