I think it would be better if there was a single focal point in your composition that was enhanced by geometry and a colour palette.

Big fan of the colours in both of these. Wonderful usage of both colour and lighting. Especially the second one feels like you could colour-pick an excellent colour scheme for a modern marine-inspired interior. I actually disagree with the good Doctor in this case. I feel like the lack of space underneath the chair makes the image more compelling, in a vaguely unsettling way. Adding that air underneath might ake it more conventionally aesthetically pleasing, but it might lose that tension that makes the image more compelling to look at for me. (Might just be my personal taste though).
The first image treads such a fine line of both softness and hardness, both in terms of shape and colour. You have round corner and sharp lines, high contrast and gradual gradients. The clothing line and the tree in the background grounds an otherwise quite abstract structure in a space and lends it some further contrast between the tangible and the conceptual.

    ¡Hola!
I downloaded the image so I could view it more comfortably in full screen on the iPad... and what you're saying makes sense. I wouldn't have minded seeing the same image with a little more air for comparison, but as it is, it looks great...
