    The Weekly Street Photography Thread

    [ Wow, I’m starting the 13th thread on the 13th of June, and it’s a Friday! Goodness me, I’m so glad I don’t have superstitions 😂 ]

Welcome to the street photography weekly thread.
We start it on Fridays. We are hoping to get your images and hear what other members think about them.
It is open to all members of the forum; members can post a single image or a selection of images on a theme in a single post. Multiple posts are allowed.
What constitutes street photography has always been debatable. There are several opinions about it, and we do not want to restrict participants. You can post whatever you deem fits into the genre; however, please be prepared to hear criticism as well.

    Guidelines:
    1. We aim to increase the popularity of street photography and encourage our fellow photographers to be more interested in the genre.
    2. Give your photo a title and include any other information you think is relevant. I personally love to know why you made this photo, what attracted you to make it, and why you like it. But this is NOT MANDATORY.
    3. A single image or a theme-based group of images are allowed. No multiple posts, please.
    4. If you post an image, that means you are ready to hear feedback.
    5. We want to hear your thoughts about others’ posts.
    6. Please keep all posts civilised and polite.
    7. Unless specifically stated otherwise by the original poster, please do not modify the images.

Again in Krakow, there was this corner, which had a very special atmosphere. It boasted old-school theatre seats, multicoloured acrylic shapes hanging from the ceiling, vintage looking diners and these tri-coloured strips obscuring the entrance.

Nice bright vertical colour strips. I'm pretty sure this is a candid shot, but I get the feeling she's standing there with that cool pose, almost as if it was a studio shooting :-)

The strong colours! The scene evokes a sense of curiosity.

This is a really interesting shot. I think I might have cropped in a bit to emphasise the foregroung fruits framing the view into the shop.

Another of my old favorites - the street performers in New Orleans stake out particular spots to work. The spots near the center of the French Quarter are the most profitable, and as the sun goes down the spots on middle blocks of Bourbon St become the prime locations. A veteran performer, Silver Man, welcomes a newcomer to the street for his first gig.

Late reply, but I looove this one. There's this incredibly pervasive sense of isolation. The contrast between the brightly coloured, lit up area around the shop keeper, juxtaposed with the mass of darkness surrounding him. This feels like the establishing shot in a movie, where something is about to go terribly wrong, or the long drawn-out one-take of a lonely man breaking down late at night, or a shot of a spycamera hidden within the citrus. This feels very cinematic to me. Stunning use of lighting.
(as a sidenote, this does look, like you took it lying on top of a crate of oranges)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it. It is taken from the street, through the glass of the shop window.

“or the long drawn-out one-take of a lonely man breaking down late at night”
That is, in a way, the feeling that image brings me when I look at it...

    Thank you Greg.
No, I had not seen that video, thanks for sharing it. It is a very interesting way of working, it must be very nice to carry out a project like that. The closest thing I have done has been in some Milky Way photos, in which you previously check the presence of the moon, the possible cloudiness, the orientation of the Milky Way on that date at the approximate time of the shot and you make a couple of visits the previous days during the day to see possible locations and frames before taking the final shot...

The light and colours are lovely, drawing the eyes to the subject.
