Good evening everyone, please accept my apologies. Normally I don't work on Fridays, but this Friday my day started very early and I just got back home, so the thread started later than it was supposed to.

    The Weekly Street Photography Thread
Welcome to the street photography weekly thread. We start it on Fridays. We are hoping to get your images and hear what other members think about them.
It is open to all members of the forum; members can post a single image or a selection of images on a theme in a single post. Multiple posts are not allowed.
What constitutes street photography has always been debatable. There are several opinions about it, and we do not want to restrict participants. You can post whatever you deem fits into the genre; however, please be prepared to hear criticism as well.

    Guidelines:
    1. We aim to increase the popularity of street photography and encourage our fellow photographers to be more interested in the genre.
    2. Give your photo a title and include any other information you think is relevant. I personally love to know why you made this photo, what attracted you to make it, and why you like it. But this is NOT MANDATORY.
    3. A single image or a theme-based group of images are allowed. No multiple posts, please.
    4. If you post an image, that means you are ready to hear feedback.
    5. We want to hear your thoughts about others’ posts.
    6. Please keep all posts civilised and polite.
    7. Unless specifically stated otherwise by the original poster, please do not modify the images.

    monsters in the dark

    IMG_20241205_202343.jpg

This shot was taken at a "Perchtenlauf" in a town in Salzburg (state) in Austria. This guy and his costume had the air of a monster king. He slowly approached through the mounting fog, his crown and quiet menace setting him apart from the other perchten.
Most perchten are scary because they act unpredictable and aggessive (they literally come up to you and hit you with a stick). He was scary because of his quiet implication of power.

Mhmmm mouthwatering. My favourite turkish dish is Beyti.
Great picture! These men are clearly hard at work, but in that moment it seems like something might have perplexed them. All off that steam makes you feel like you're right there in the thick of it with them. I also quite enjoy the man in the background, lost in thought and maybe counting something with his fingers. A wonderful snapshot from a busy place!

    Romance in Reykjavik

I was taking photos of the architecture in the city and these two motorcyclistsdropped in. Reykjavik was the only place we saw more than a handful of people when we were in Iceland. It was early spring and I guess the summer tourist crowd had not arrived.

He's not the kind of character you want to meet in a dark alley...

After the smoke and fog, the dust.

I seem to remember that they were removing rubble from a building under construction, and the afternoon sun made the rest...

    Village street

In the Cretan village of Anogia, a long time ago! Crafting lace is one of the specialities of this mountain village, and I guess needs good light.

You certainly brought the element of fear. The sense of fear would have been stronger if the crow were looking at his direction. There’s a funny thing about it, though. As the king looks like he’s taking a phone call, which is a good juxtaposition, I guess.

It is a very sweet, nice street work, augmented with the architecture.

The rubble dust and filtering sun rays made a quite compelling composition. I think it is the right choice to use BW conversion. I am wondering how it will look like with a little bit more contrast?

A festival of colours. Crooked buildings make your composition stronger and more interesting.

    Something's cooking on the street

Looks like a theme developing on this week's thread, with good looking misty street images
... here's something to follow the trend.
