    The Weekly Street Photography Thread

Welcome to the street photography weekly thread.
We are hoping to get your images and hear what other members think about them.
It is open to all members of the forum; members can post a single image or a selection of images on a theme in a single post. Multiple posts are allowed.
What constitutes street photography has always been debatable. There are several opinions about it, and we do not want to restrict participants. You can post whatever you deem fits into the genre; however, please be prepared to hear criticism as well.

    Guidelines:
    1. We aim to increase the popularity of street photography and encourage our fellow photographers to be more interested in the genre.
    2. Give your photo a title and include any other information you think is relevant. I personally love to know why you made this photo, what attracted you to make it, and why you like it. But this is NOT MANDATORY.
    3. A single image or a theme-based group of images are allowed. No multiple posts, please.
    4. If you post an image, that means you are ready to hear feedback.
    5. We want to hear your thoughts about others’ posts.
    6. Please keep all posts civilised and polite.
    7. Unless specifically stated otherwise by the original poster, please do not modify the images.

I know it is not very creative, slow shutter speed and moving trains are quite a cliché, but it is visually good enough not to delete.

This is another rather broad interpretation of the title "street" photography, would you not say? Maybe a thread for trains and stations would be useful.

There is a lot that is enjoyable in that image: I like the geometric composition, the mix of warm and cold tones, the calm presence of that couple of travelers waiting...

I took this on a walk in Liverpool. I thought it might look good like this - B&W with one colour brought out (and it had to be red for Liverpool).

A nice peek into the lives of some friends. Interestingly, unlike here in the US, the girls all have plastic cups to pour their drinks into, they don't drink directly out of the cans.

Hi Alan! Street musicians always look good.
I'm not a big fan of selective desaturated ones and, in this specific case, I would prefer a classic black and white…

Seeing his surprised face and his hand squeezing the brake, it seems clear that it was not a good idea to look at his cell phone while driving 😀

¡Hola Lynne! thanks for your comment. I can't assure you, but it is more than possible that there is some type of fuel in the glasses in addition to the soft drink 😙

No need for that explanation. Since there is ice in the glasses, the cans probably contain coca cola at ambient temperature, which is not nice to drink!

So many Liverpool icons all in one shot 😁 The city is barely recognisable from when I was a student there in the early 80s! (A shame the Pier Head sign is just clipped though.) I think the selective colour doesn't do much for this one, though it was successful in your previous posts.

    David

Yes, I think it will be very appropriate to have a dedicated trains and station thread. But I truly believe it is a street photo. I believe the definition of street photography is unimportant, but for me, anything that includes humans in their natural environments and anything linked to human activities is street photography for me.

I think it is a good use of selective colouring, but you could've masked it better.

This is a really good capture. I am trying to make a project with similar kinds of photos: working men.

Thank you, Kadir. It will be a nice project, especially considering how these small workshops and the artisans who run them are disappearing,,,
