    The Weekly Street Photography Thread

Welcome to the street photography weekly thread.
We are hoping to get your images and hear what other members think about them.
It is open to all members of the forum; members can post a single image or a selection of images on a theme in a single post. Multiple posts are allowed.
What constitutes street photography has always been debatable. There are several opinions about it, and we do not want to restrict participants. You can post whatever you deem fits into the genre; however, please be prepared to hear criticism as well.

    Guidelines:
    1. We aim to increase the popularity of street photography and encourage our fellow photographers to be more interested in the genre.
    2. Give your photo a title and include any other information you think is relevant. I personally love to know why you made this photo, what attracted you to make it, and why you like it. But this is NOT MANDATORY.
    3. A single image or a theme-based group of images are allowed. No multiple posts, please.
    4. If you post an image, that means you are ready to hear feedback.
    5. We want to hear your thoughts about others’ posts.
    6. Please keep all posts civilised and polite.
    7. Unless specifically stated otherwise by the original poster, please do not modify the images.

    Shoeshiner, Maltepe, Ankara.
I chatted with him for a few minutes while he was polishing my shoes, which is something I haven't had done for many, many years! He has been working in this area for 53 years; he works somewhere else during the day and shoeshines after this. The area where he works is a very well-known night club area; these night clubs are quite different from ones you normally imagine; this video gives an idea. He was very polite and allowed me to make his portrait. Later I will share coloured versions.

It is a nice moment you captured that brings the emotions to the viewers, but the post-processing seems to me a bit too much. The human beings look so different, and it disturbs the illusion. It would have been OK if no skin tones were involved ; I mean, at least for me.

It is a strong and almost poetic composition that is enhanced with geometry, colours, and a leading line. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for stopping by and the critique -- I was looking for several things in post and I used this technique for several years with the hope that it would give the people a bit of anonymity as their actual identity is unimportant , I reduce the detail and try to give the picture some ambiguity and move it bit from photograph toward graphic art. I don't think it changes story or makes it more difficult to understand, I hope not ... And it doesn't hurt if it stops the casual viewer and makes him spend a few more minutes thinking about the picture IMHO

I don't know what to say. She was a very kind person. I am really saddened. 😢

Thank you for your explanation; you can safely ignore my comment. I haven't thought the way you did.

Really sad news. From his comments, she seemed like a sensitive and very nice person. My deepest condolences to his family and friends...

I was on a photo walk in Norwich on Saturday. We had a lovely day with the 'blue' end of day. Here's some pictures with the odd comment.
