    The Weekly Street Photography Thread
Welcome to the street photography weekly thread. We start it on Fridays. We are hoping to get your images and hear what other members think about them.
It is open to all members of the forum; members can post a single image or a selection of images on a theme in a single post. Multiple posts are allowed.
What constitutes street photography has always been debatable. There are several opinions about it, and we do not want to restrict participants. You can post whatever you deem fits into the genre; however, please be prepared to hear criticism as well.

    Guidelines:
    1. We aim to increase the popularity of street photography and encourage our fellow photographers to be more interested in the genre.
    2. Give your photo a title and include any other information you think is relevant. I personally love to know why you made this photo, what attracted you to make it, and why you like it. But this is NOT MANDATORY.
    3. A single image or a theme-based group of images are allowed. No multiple posts, please.
    4. If you post an image, that means you are ready to hear feedback.
    5. We want to hear your thoughts about others’ posts.
    6. Please keep all posts civilised and polite.
    7. Unless specifically stated otherwise by the original poster, please do not modify the images.

    Royal St, New Orleans.

In the French Quarter, some of the costumed people you see are street performers, some are tourists adopting the spirit of "Laissez les bons temps rouler" (that's Louisiana French Creole), and some are local characters.

    Saint George

Saint George's day falls on 23rd April. In the greek village of Arachova they honour the saint with three days of festivities including processions, races, dancing, and lots of noise! Everyone joins in, most wearing traditional costume, and on the final afternoon there is a feast served for all-comers (including the odd visiting english couple!). Then lots more noise!!

Great dynamic action. Looks like an interesting building in the background.

The red dress lady is a serious distraction, otherwise it is a good story and framing.

The first one has nice anchor points, while the sense of movement is strong. I am wondering if the yellow tint that comes from lighting could be fixed in the post-processing.

For the file name tag, you use Roumeli, which is a Turkish word. Rum (Greek in Turkish) and El (Country, state, place, land) : Land of Greeks

Roumeli is the old (ottoman) name for northern mainland greece, so yes, turkish in origin. It was a useful tag for the region covered in that particular trip. There's also a book of that name by Patrick Leigh Fermor which I think I was reading at the time.

I like the dynamics of the scene, with the people and Lord Vader moving in opposite directions, and the timing, just before they shake hands. And there's the woman in red, stealing the show...

As our colleague comments, these static figures among the movement of people are very interesting; it's a nice scene.
And regarding the lights, I used to be bothered by the strong, yellow tint of the old lighting... but now that the more efficient (and cooler) LED lights are being used, I miss it...

I'm a big fan of the atmosphere that rain gives to urban scenes...

It's a curious moment that, as you say, is improved by that sidelong glance from the protagonist.
Maybe I would trim a bit from the top left corner to give more weight and decenter the smoker a bit...
