and thank you for participating in this test run ... I was hoping others would participate so that we can see whether or not this is a substitute for the DPR Thread. .. I'm sure Kim (rodriguezPhoto) is looking in and maybe will give this idea a test run this Sunday or maybe next ..
Well it appears I still don't know how to reply!! ????

Great picture ... Thank you for participating Maybe Kim, after seeing this, will add dogs to the Sunday thread ... I did because that was what I had in hand when starting this Thread ..

Well it seems replies are not going where I would want them to go!!!... Good to see you participating in the test run of a typical DPR Thread which is getting a bit awkward here. What do you think? Still maybe Kim will try it out this Sunday or next and maybe even add dogs(??) Thanks for bringing Jake over to look around .. hope he ;likes the environment ....

Still trying things out and learning.. here I deleted your pictures as I replied .. but it looks like that action in a flat thread will probably lose context if the message is much separated from the orginal post ..
We will find our stride. It reminds me of when we moved into a new and bigger house way back in the 60s, so much new space to explore.
In case you haven't discovered it yet, the Thread link in the top menu is the way to go. That view of the forum seemed confusing and messy first. But there is a second set of buttons. Click the one labeled "All threads" and choose "Subscribed threads" and you'll get this dprevived.com/threads/subscribed/ . You quickly see if there are new posts in threads you're in. In the right column it says how long ago there was a post. Even if it isn't obvious, those indications of time are links that take you directly to the first new post.
That button ("All threads") is also there if you choose the other way in and go to Olympus SLR Talk dprevived.com/c/olympus-slr-talk/27/ .
I missed that common feature at DPR.

Not convinced!!! Maybe you need to lead me along!!! ..... It appears that I need to start the thread as a private thread and then it appears I have to identify all the participants allowed to see the thread .. at least that is first impression ... We probably need to start a new thread to discuss as it is awkward to use this thread as it gets more entries!!! Maybe you can start a tutorial??!!!

No no! You are at the wrong place. What you are looking at is the equivalent to PMs at DPR.
Just click this link dprevived.com/threads/subscribed/ .
And you get there on your own by first clicking Threads up in the top menu and then the All Threads button so you can switch to Subscribed instead of All.
You can subscribe to a thread by clicking on the star / disabled grey box that is next to the blue reply box (at the top and bottom of the page) and selecting the second option (subscribe).
You can then see only the threads you have subscribed to by doing as the previous poster suggested.

Well that link takes me to a thread "An idea for you to peruse" that I responded to earlier but says nothing about threads or threading BTW I started a private thread that includes only you! That might actually be an easier place for this discussion ... just because I don't have to wade through 20 some odd other posts I Know I can go directly to the bottom!! .. I agree it is a PM Subscribe sounds like signing up for a thread but doesn't solve the problems that not having a "threaded view" pose ... Not sure what problem we are solving here ...
Actually might be useful to respond to that private message so I can see how it works. Not sure how I know a have a response and would like to see!!
