I mowed this afternoon, about 2.5 h, and shot these afterward. Winners and losers, you pick! Some I did not identify that may be unknown to you. I wanted to see if anyone knew what they were.

Always like seeing ur flowers Andrew there beautiful with such a variety of colures I have daffodils that are gone now and some yellow roses one is out that’s it so I like seeing a real garden an flowers like urs 🙂Paul

Thanks Paul. I should shoot some birds. We have racoons that have been wrecking havoc with the seed feeders. I used to trap them and take them for a drive and release them but they have not been a problem for a few years so now I just take the feeders in at night. They are destructive animals!

Nice, Andrew ... I never pick winners or losers!! Just enjoy the set and try to see what the story is and here I see a pleasant afternoon in the garden enjoying the flowers that Spring has brought ....
It seems that on this continent that one needs to schedule our problems in advance so that those appointment coincide with the onset of the problem .. I guess we are both waiting but I hope your back eases up as that is crippling in many cases ... Don't aggravate it that is how I ended up crippled for three days on a couple occasions .. now when the back says be careful I am not going to even bend over to tie my shoes ..

Thanks. I really don't do 'stories' generally. I just shoot a bunch of shots with no intention of telling a story with them. On occasion there is a story to be told though!
I am not impressed with the turns medical care have taken in the past decade and one half here in Ontario. Mostly this has happened as a result of a misguided political choice that was intended to improve the situation. It has had the exact opposite effect it would seem. My GP works a grand total of 27 h/wk. Some work ethic! My previous family GP was at his office at 8:00 a.m. and often there until well after 5:00 p.m., plus a few evenings during the week from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 or the last patient was seen. On top of that he worked some weekend walk in clinics, but not every weekend. This change in working hour numbers from the previous generation of GPs (from not having much of a life outside their practice) to what I see with all the GPs now in the area has created a crisis in medical care at the lowest level in the chain. Any real issue needing attention now and you have to go to the emergency room at a hospital and wait hours to be seen.
I am disgusted with the apparent lack of work ethic that exists now. Perhaps outside the area where I live it is different but I believe the issue is widespread throughout Ontario and the result of a decision to create 'medical teams' to provide service to individuals. It is not working here! Every GP I have had until now has had an amazing work ethic and I have been impressed with all of them. Switching to a different one now would have no effect unless I found an old one and then they could decide to pack it in so nothing would be gained and I would be then left with no GP! A lot of people here don't have a family doctor because they can not find one taking new patients. Some claim there is a shortage of medical professionals but I believe there is a shortage of ones that want to work more than 27 h/wk!
Sorry for the rant but it is a touchy subject. Sitting in a hospital's ER for hours at a time is not fun but seeing others there with conditions far worse than my own makes it even worse. I bet you recall days when your doctor would make house calls. I do! I must be ancient!

Thanks Jim. Your garden must be coming along by now. We don't seem to have the number of birds we have had in the past, except for orioles. They are everywhere here. Not seen so much but their voices can be heard from just about every direction here. We have a feeder into which I put grape jelly in wells, an orange liquid mix, and sliced oranges on top. The grape jelly is the big hit. I better go looking for some while I can find it.

Yes, it's coming along well. The biggest problem is the lazy photographer 😉
She's got lots of allium about to bloom (a few are open now) and many other flowers blooming.
I'll have to post a few, but they will just be snapshots, not professional portraits like yours. -

I have checked that flower each day but it really has not opened any more than the last image shown. I think the fringes stick together and stop it from opening further, but ..... ?

Well Andrew I would rant myself but hesitate ... I think the problem is North America wide, not sure it has found its way to Mexico yet .. II have not seen my GP professionally since the pandemic started.. I see the nurse who talks to the DR (I hope) and then relays any thoughts back to me.. If I have problem that I feel needs attention, like my vertigo attacks, he schedules me with a specialist who will schedule me for a month or so in the future and when I see him he needs tests before he can say anything about the problem . Those tests and my next appointment with the specialist is at least a month in the future. and the problem just lingers on ... So yes the problem is wide spread!!! Maybe there is a nirvana somewhere near but no one has pointed me in that direction yet ..
So I do commiserate with you .. something I wished my GP would do for me ...
