For me, dprevived is like drinking from a firehose. I generally read camera forums when I have other things going on, such as work builds, and such. So I like to dip in and see if there were responses to threads I had posted to earlier, and then scan the various forums for things to look at.

As others have mentioned, a threaded view is very helpful when you have a long thread that has multiple people commenting and such. Without a threaded view, it can be very hard to match the responses to the original post. It is also very important in a threaded view that the threads highlight which posts you have seen already, so that you can go into the threaded view, and jump down to the start of a selection of unread posts. I see there are some threads about a threaded view, and I hope these are implemented in a usable fashion.

In addition to a threaded view, to me it is very important that I have an icon or some such at the top that indicates what threads that I have posted to have new responses. Mu-43.com in their version of the icon also listed when people liked a post (dpreview.com did not), and I like that also. I also find mu-43.com's version to be more useful than dpreview.com in that it will list all of the posts in order, even ones I've seen. For example, I might see some posts, but I have limited time at the moment. I can go back later when I have more time, and revisit the post and make an extended reply. With dpreview I had to go into recent activity to find the post.

As I mentioned earlier, I wish dprevived allowed longer names with spaces in them, as I tend to prefer 'Michael Meissner' instead of 'MikeMeissner'. If this is implemented, it would be nice if users could change their names.

    Hello Michael.

This site is only a week old and still under construction.
No doubt Threaded view and Flat view will eventually be implemented.

Threaded view is on the to-do list, it's quite complex to code so be patient.

Notifications are a little easier to implement, we should see them soon (Replies & Likes notified separately I believe). In the meantime this view is quite good to see who has replied most recently to posts you've started or replied to -

Sure I figured that, but in the context of notifications, without a threaded view, the notifications would become less useful in very busy threads.

That helps, thanks. As I said, it is also helpful to have other recent threads that have been seen, but I want to go back to (for me typically when I see it, I don't have time to reply fully).

More than a week old now (10+ days). But if I don't mention the desirability of something, they might not implement it. I call it the Christmas/birthday principal. When asked what you want for a gift giving occasion, if you don't mention what you want, you likely won't get it. Even so, if you mention what you want, you might not get it also, but you have to at least ask for it.

Constructive comments are welcome. We have a dev team now, and developing a plan of new software releases, both ours and the Misago project. So, keep the comments going - we want this to work for everyone.
