Good morning to everyone wherever you are in the world...

I think this place might work better if, instead of replying to my original post, we simply post our own pictures in a fresh one, therefore all comments relating to a picture will be contained in its own thread. But we’ll see how it goes for a while to gauge how busy it gets, also to see how adept people are at editing html to make the posts look tidy.

    • Please reply to my original post when submitting your own pictures.
    • This long-running thread originated on DPReview has grown into an all-inclusive community in which all brands of camera are welcome.
    • Leave your guns and knives at the door. Keep it polite.
    • A new week kicks off Saturday morning (UK time).
    • Don’t just post and run, try to comment on other peoples’ work. We all like feedback.

That's rather lovely. A new dawn indeed. Hope it doesn't turn out dull and wet later.

DPR is kind of Schrodinger's cat, it is dead and alive. I hope they will update this forum interface as threaded look was so easy to follow.

They eat babies in Bern, Switzerland! This is a statue of the winner of the annual baby eating contest. He wolfed down 14 babies in 60 minutes back in 1289. His record still stands.

Now that is a weird story, only a little embroidered ;-) Shame about the orange banner breaking up the outline, but I guess it would be tricky to move right and keep enough of the face. I've spent a fair bit of time in Switzerland but never made it Bern - must remedy that.

    @ Daneland

These are all brilliant. The first in particular. No2 is very witty.
The last has a slight tilt to the right maybe? Still good though.
Seems they have added a quote button. I hit reply to this, hence no embedded pics of yours.

Yes, see my comments in my OP. I may yet change the format.

Jeez, I haven't heard of that. I knew a Swiss guy once but he never ate any of my children. Maybe they were a bit too old for his taste.

The quote button gives me the html for the images, which I can delete or not from my quote reply. The preview button then shows me exactly what will appear. I have posted my pics in a separate thread as you suggested...

I love the golden color. Dang there are a lot of cranes in that skyline!

There doesn't seem to be a way to delete an errant post like this one that I forgot to quote so you would know which photo I was talking about.

Yes, things have changed since last week. There was only a reply button which gave you the option to edit HTML. Now the quote button does that.
I'm not sure which I'll go with the separate thread thing. I said I might go down that path in future depending on how busy we get.
