That's beautiful. The trusty (well, worn out, but still trusty :) ) GM5 rises to the occasion!

That's rather pleasing.
This is the better one IMO. For such an overcast day the forest looks very bright and saturated, especially the reds. Maybe a touch less satuation ?
It's fun to play with images!
Thanks:-)
Yes, this is definitely one of the more scenic tours around here. And I do feel lucky to live here and (still) fit enough to go hiking.
I have not had an opportunity to do much photography this week, as it has rained all week, disastrously so in Romagna.
I found another Terracotta group of life-size figures, this time near to home in Reggio. They are in a little church in the centre of town that only opens for Mass. So I crept in at the end of the service and had about five minutes to do some pictures. The group is made up from the remains of several groups, in fact John appears twice. The figures date from the fifteenth century and are probably by at least three of artists, including Mazzoni, one of the most famous terracotta artists. They were crudely repainted in the nineteenth century. The Christ figure comes from Tuscany and was added in the nineteen fifties.
Well photographed!
You have a knack of finding these things and the background story to go with them
Maybe this one was a dentist ? :-)
It's All Gone Green
It's been quite a while since I've visited Great Knowley Woods,
1. Backlit Tree
The initial part of the walk took me along a tree lined track, where I was quite taken with the shape and lighting on a number of trees. This one in particular stood out to me. As I only had the 24-70 and limited ability to move back, I couldn't get the entire tree into the frame, but I quite like how the crop works around the top end and the soft light on the grass in the foreground.
3. The Fallen Tree
I found this fallen tree on my first visit to Great Knowley Woods several years ago and it's been a firm favourite to return to on a number of occasions. I haven't seen it for a number of years, so I'm glad to see it's still here and seemingly intact. However, on this occasion the light is poor, there's just diffuse light reflected from the surroundings, making it all quite flat. In this instance I've spiced it up a bit in C1P with localised adjustments to give a bit more depth to the image, but I think early to mid morning is probably a better time to be photographing this subject.
All good!
I especially like the composition of #1 & the mood of #3
The angry duckling
It's great when the water reflects all the colours like that, looks somehow magical!
A couple of old shots from Bosnia.
Love this one with its dark framing and the streetlight light shining on the cobblestones
Petra
Petra is a poster child for over-tourism, but I am still glad I went. By this part of the trip, I had hooked up with my 87 year old mom, and I was a lot more concerned about making sure she stayed safe than taking photos. Mom was an absolute trooper throughout the trip.
Looks like an amazing place, nice photos!
Pity about all the tourists, maybe it's less crowded in an off-season period ?
3 Swans and photographer
Some people shoot sunrise, I'm too lazy for this (sun rised 4:40 AM today...) so I shoot sunset, but even for this I'm too late, this photo is made 5 minutes after sunset:
Great sunset colour!
I'm just as lazy as you when it comes to getting up early for sun rises ;-)
A couple of days on the Gower peninsula last week.
Evening high tide at Three Cliffs Bay
Rhossili bay. We had planned to walk across the tidal causway to Worms Head, but the wind was making conditions unpleasant so we gave up on that and just strolled around the clifftops.
A distant view of Worms Head with waves crashing right up the cliffs confirmed we had made the right decision!
Oxwich Burrows
Lovely set ,it brings back memories of my student days in Swansea. Walked around the Gower Peninsular and Jumped off the top of Rhossili with a hanglider a few times :-)

Thats why everyone loves dentists :)

Ah... Those were the days 😊 There seem to be fewer hangliders now. More camper vans trying to sqeeze down the narrow lanes.
I love the colours in this, but I'm not sure the passer-by adds anything in this case.
