Good morning to everyone wherever you are in the world...been a bit busy this week, repointing my patio, so haven't been around so much. Feeling a bit creaky now.

Arrived at the lake very early, just at first light and was rewarded with this spectacular daybreak. Apart from a bit of tidying this is pretty much sooc. Ignore the exif, my GM5 doesn't retain the time every time I change the battery.

It is special when you catch light like that. Nice shot. 😀

Majestic views from a Schneiderberg hike
This is my second trip up to the summit of the Schneiderberg mountain by Grünau, Austria. We didn't make it to the top this time, but on the way up there are some majestic views. It was quite warm and one of the guys took three small bottles of beer for the three of us. Cheers!

I like the crisper colours of the second. Both crops, if indeed they are crops, could be better imho. I'd like to see more sky at the top of the first and less water at the bottom of the second. Rule of thirds and all that...

I think that turned out well. Reminds me of something one might see on a Japanese room screen.

I have not had an opportunity to do much photography this week, as it has rained all week, disastrously so in Romagna.

I found another Terracotta group of life-size figures, this time near to home in Reggio. They are in a little church in the centre of town that only opens for Mass. So I crept in at the end of the service and had about five minutes to do some pictures. The group is made up from the remains of several groups, in fact John appears twice. The figures date from the fifteenth century and are probably by at least three of artists, including Mazzoni, one of the most famous terracotta artists. They were crudely repainted in the nineteenth century. The Christ figure comes from Tuscany and was added in the nineteen fifties.

When you catch light like this, it is really breathtaking.
