A wonderful set to see, I liked all of them. I hope your health gets better swiftly and it was wise to be away from the edge :) Related to the canal shot, I think it is beautiful and I dont see any clipping :) It is full of joy and beauty. Thanks for sharing.

What a view, I would pay € 180 if they dont ascend swiftly and take long de-tour around the clouds.

    Just a few:

I had had a Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 that I liked a lot, but it went away in a system switch some years ago. I got the second gen version when I came back to M43 a couple of years later, but never liked that particular one, so I sold it. When Panasonic announced its revised "Leica" version, with improved close up capabilities and better coatings, I decided to take a chance on it, as (the first gen one, anyway) was a lens I really liked, and would be happy to have back in the fold. Suffice it to say, whatever they did in their revision is very good. It's a keeper!

The first and second shots are from it (it was getting late when I was taking the marsh shots, so not optimal for M43 work, but I was there, so...). The last shot is just a little House Sparrow having a snack at the feeder (PL100-400mm). Not much there today except the flock of little brown birds, but at least the light was good, so...

A lot of it is quite fine grained (microgranite), so probably not very exciting polished. Also it's mostly grey, lacking the pink (orthoclase for nerds) crystals that look so spectacular in some granites. Our daughter has a kitchen worktop made from amazing 'granite' (it's actually some other sort of igneous rock, no idea where from) which has huge crystals with concentric rings - a feast for mineralogists!!

Interesting street scenes - those angled bridges have a weird effect, as if slightly drunken 😉

Of course, now I'm not sure anymore if any of these are AI "enhanced" ;-)
If any are, I would guess this second one might be. However the shadows on, and around, the girl all look perfect and match to the other shadows in the image
    Super shot as presented!

Definitely a good idea to avoid big black storm clouds :-) they are like monsters that suck you up at high speed to high altitudes, then freeze you to ice at the top :-(
I've done and enjoyed paragliding, hang gliding and parachute jumping in the past , but that was quite a while ago, and I'm not tempted to try again :-)

Thanks for your nice comment, no AI with these shots and I will make sure it is stated if I use it. To be honest with you, I am not so keen to add things but I am more relaxed to clone out some unwanted elements. I might remove her bags later but as it is just processing for my taste.

Honestly, I think the big bag adds context, so I wouldn't take it out. I might experiment with the smaller object to the far right, in front of the bag, that is casting a long shadow. Taking that out might work well...or not. Worth a bit of a play to see, though.

Really nice series. I love the contrast of the brickwork and light, and street perspectives.

I ask this first....is there a reason the through your eyes and weekly critique thread aren't just one weekly "post and talk about'em" thread? I mean, are both threads not sort of serving the same function overall?

The This Week Through Your Eyes thread, hosted by Wormsmeat, was a very long running, very active, DPReview thread in the Micro Four Thirds forum. As people who started with M43 either migrated to or added in other systems, the thread expanded to include them, even though it was still on the M43 forum.

When DPReview announced its closure, the thread moved here, as a place for the community that was built up over so many years to continue to post and share commentary. So, theoretically, yes, both threads could be merged, but participants would lose the history that goes along with this one if they were.

History's important, and the forum has the bandwidth to host both threads. Hopefully, in a few weeks, post an image and comment threads will become a bit easier to navigate (just a teaser, I know no-one was complaining).

That and they are populated by different people so have slightly different bents. I like them both but mostly post in the other. I don't normally post the same pics in each. To me they are great forums for beginners all the way up to discuss their shots - really helps the learning process.
Nice teaser - but I knew it would happen eventually.

Is this wonderfully coloured shop in London or somewhere on the Med? I had never heard of Falafel, but it seems they can be found around the Mediterranean including Italy,

I have passes this spot in the Apennines above Reggio a hundred times, but I have never noticed this country bus stop shelter, decorated with Italian musical icons of the seventies.
