What a lovely spot to sit and ponder life. Where are we here?

    Back to the beeginning
No photographic trip this week for me, so just took the macro back in the garden to hunt for bees again.
I kept to the square crop, as recommended by Woodsider and concentrated on bold but still gentle colours.
Tried a few different focussing techniques this time and it seemed to work.

I must get out hiking again, or you'll get fed up with my bees ;-)
The 2nd heat wave is coming again this week to most of Europe, including Austria, and my Sister is visiting again, so not sure how successful that idea will be?

    Using the Z7 + Z105 F/2.8 macro

    Yes, ha ha!
Definitely looks like it. - Small and fluffy, but completely crazy!
Did those passers-by wonder why you were laying on the ground?

I saw the alternative shots you posted of this scene on that other "pre-visualisation" thread, and this is the best of them.
The composition is simplified and seems to work nicely.

Amazing colours 🙂 I like the first one the most. Both the bee and flowers pop.

What a lovely spot to sit and ponder life. Where are we here?

We are on the northern edge of the Brighton Beach Gardens, Melbourne, Australia looking north-west over Port Phillip Bay with the city skyline in the background towards the right.

However it was a cold and very blustery morning with an overcast grey sky. I tried to add a bit of "drama" to the sky and overall scene.

The wind surfers were having a ball behind us.

    dprevived.com/media/attachments/59/37/68nfD6cWCsgt1x2cRZitqSma3Iy2U9FH4CG0qWFfKgaQpLOmcF8vmaKYNZCxUM4F/acrobatkitesurfi.jpg

In this one I used the Selective Colour Adjustment Layer in Photoshop Elements (with Elements XXL) to change the dull very uninteresting grey overcast sky to a blue sky.

    Thank you Fireplace33 🙂.

Yes, I agree. In the pre-visualization thread I said this version works best for me.

Hi! Haven't had much photography lately, but today morning lost my sleep early (probably due submitting to icecream late evening and having vivid dreams because of carbs consumed) and after rolling an hour in bed decided to go outside. It was good call, found out that bearded reedlings are back in my favorite spot (haven't seen them after couple of weeks of extreme cold in December, 2021 when they probably died, now newcomers occupied this area) and had some other shots as well. Seems like it's time for baby birds who are not very careful yet and provide good shooting opportunities.

Such an interesting perspective. Were you lying on the ground or using your LCD screen?

NIcely spotted. I'm loving skies so I'd probably cut some grass in bottom and added more sky. But that just me..
