Those are some good looking impressive clouds!
    Especially the first shot!

At the moment, when I look out of the window, there's just a continuous boring expanse of grey cloud and rain :-(
Time to do some of those things at home that I've been putting off for a while.

The weather is awful. On the plus side, the garden looks good.

    Battle

Following on from my thread about the cost of visiting monuments, here are a few shots from the one monument we paid to visit. Actually I made two visits as, following a footpath from our hotel, crossing a field and climbing over a gate brought me onto the 1066 battlefield for free. Took a couple of shots as it was starting to rain, but I like the sheep in the foreground. We were there at opening time which as the EH staff obviously like a good lay-in in the morning, seeing that it opens at 10.00. A fast approaching storm added a bit of drama to the battlefield shots. As for the ruins. well just the remains of the monks living quarters remain today.

The battle it seems was a near run thing, that unusually lasted all day. The Normans were repulsed a couple of times before eventually killing Harold. My wife who is a linguist, mused that the English language would not exist if Harold had won. People in Britain today would speak a form of German Harold had won that day.

Everything shot on my Z7 with 24-200 14-30 and I also used my 24PC adapted via FTZ

    London Rathayatra

I had no idea there was a celebration when get off the tube at Green Park station, they were approaching to Piccadilly Circus and I took a few shots.
I found particularly interesting to shot the people pulling the cart. One side (men's were very busy and get a clean shot of rope and people who pull it unobstructed was very difficult. Women's side was better. I wanted to capture both sides and the cart in a frame but I couldn't manage the way I wanted to.

I visited there once too, I must say I was a bit unimpressed. I do agree with you in terms of pricing of many sites. Nowadays it seems to me many things are really unnecessarily expensive. I dropped off my in-laws to Standsted and I paid £7 jus to drop them, football is awfully expensive to watch. Cost of tickets are well above £50. We went to Hever Castle I mean, it was a nice place but £20.80 is absurd. I dont know I must be getting old grumpy and tight

I like the sheep shot, especially with the one n the foreground looking towards you.

Despite all the nice shots of people's faces, it's the close up of the hands on the rope that appeals most.

    Benyellary

We had hillwalking guests this week, so we decided the weather was just about ok enough for a stroll up Merrick, the highest point in southern Scotland.

Leaden skies didn't bode too well heading up valley.

Autumn fungus season seems to be well underway.

This one was probably very tasty yesterday...
    P8038764.jpg

By the time we reached the summit of Benyellary, the wind had picked up and it was uncomfortably chilly, so we hunkered down in the shelter of a stone wall and consumed lunch. Looking along the ridge to Merrick, the top was in cloud most of the time and there seemed little point or enthusiasm for trekking over there. The view from Benyellary was deemed good enough!

The ridge between Merrick and Benyellary has the wonderful name Neive of the Spit.

Of course on the return leg the sun came through and reminded us it is still summer!
