A beautiful scenery. I loved the details of mountain's rocky face.

They are very nice, second is the best between first two. The circus one brings different emotions. I dont know why but I found it a bit melancholic.

This was the hottest day of the year. But most of the summer was like this.

This image sums up Britain today - miserable and falling apart 😕

The last one is my pick of these. The moon looks good all red like that in the "blue hour", and with the stripes looks a bit like Jupiter. looks good and appears even bigger low down in the sky next to those buildings.
A crop of some of the the sky off the top would make it even better IMO.

Getting to know the ins and outs of new camera is all part of the fun :-)

From the first set I like the composition of the first best.
And from the others, the sunny shot appeals most. Those rolling hills, the trees and fields remind me of where I live in Pilsbach, Austria.
Pity the mist turned out murky, but at least you were there, you never really know what it will turn out like :-)

I guess your title suggest that it is still hotter than normal, for this time of year.
Same here in Austria; we have had a long hot spell and it will continue for a few days yet.
In England they even had the hottest day yesterday.
The signs of the climate change caused by us humans are everywhere.

Nice image, you can feel the rain!
Interesting to compare the people on the right, who don't seem to mind about getting wet, with the people on the left.
You even have some famous portraits hanging up here too!

A horizontal crop works as well IMO

    Another Liguria

Just got back from a short break in Liguria. I did not do a lot of photography, as we went to the beach most of the time.

I did one little expedition into the hills behind the coast above Recco, near Genova to the little village of Uscio. I wanted to see a curious little Romanesque Pieve, that sits next to a neo-Baroque monster. In 1893, they wanted to pull the old church down and replace it with a much larger one. There were some protests from the more enlightened members of the population and a compromise was made, the Pieve became a state protected monument, and the new church was built. On my visit the new church was open, but as often happens with monuments in Italy, the old Pieve was shut.

Next, I drove a little deeper into the hills, to a pass that descends into Genova. On a clear day the views must be spectacular. I had to make do with these shots full of summer haze. This is the second time I have been into the hills above Liguria Levante. The contrast between the crowded holiday resorts on the coast and the hinterland is striking, with its little villages lost in the deep wooded valleys.

Next time we are in Chiavari, I hope to explore the hinterland a little bit more.

I woke up on Saturday morning to the news that Marocco has suffered a huge earthquake. I hope our friend Wormsmeat and his family are safe.

This shot is pretty cool, even with the cloud.

The Soviet architecture is not a problem in this set. But it is worth recording this architecture, before it dissapears. It has a dated charm, maybe.

I really like this late summer picture with those long shadows, and two lone figures on the now empty beach. One of your best.

The pieve has a lot of charm, sitting there like an old lady basking in the quiet sunshine. I particularly like the one with the stepa and handrails.
Those hill roads look tortuous. And not much better (worse?) for hiking.
