Wonderful pictures of these dogs. You seem to give them character.

    Lombard Gothic

I was in Busseto ( of Giuseppe Verdi fame) for work. I wanted to see some famous sculptures in the abbey. I was surprised to find a nice example of "Lombard Gothic", which is different to the usual Gothic architecture found in Europe. I had a stroke of luck. I was shooting the outside with my camera on a tripod for TS, when the caretaker, asked me if I wanted to see the cloisters, which are usually off limits. It often happens this way that people are helpful when I photograph these minor monuments, whilst with the more famous ones it is easy to encounter problems whilst taking pictures.

Here is the abbey, the sculptures I will post another time. I tried my best to reproduce the effect of the vaulted ceiling, that reminded me of a forest.

Those red bricks make nice contrast with white colour, impressive work.

    Buck: Colour me surprised.
Great shots, I like matching backgrounds, I remember that in first shots it was bit distracting but now it serves its purpose very well.

Some nice shots here, but this one is my pick. I particularly like the way you've framed the tower within the arch.

An excellent set of portraits. If I had to pick one, it would be this. The colour of the background works so well with the dog's coat and his expression has real intensity.

About 2 years ago I posted in "original" forum photos of Old manufacture block
Last week I had chance to visit this building from inside, thanks to Open House weekend, which organized guided tours in many otherwise inaccessible places. And of course I took my camera with me. Seems like renovation of this building is not started yet, but on developer's webpage it is promised that this will be completed by end of 2025 so they have time. Or maybe it is delayed due to current situation, we will see.

Ceiling looked "interesting". And there were holes big enough to drop through between 3rd and 4th floor. It's not the place you want to visit in darkness without light.

That paintwork could do with a bit of a touch up.

Text says in russian: "jump". No, I don't understand it and I won't jump. After all, it is ca15 meter drop to the ground.
    PA080149_DxO.jpg

I wonder what happened to the wall here? Nice framing of the building across the street, its profile kind of matches the shape of the hole.

    @Vahur has written:

Not sure for what this round hole was...
    PA080157_DxO.jpg

This looks like something you'd find in the aftermath of an over elaborate heist.

"3D" painting. One should stand in marked place to see it correctly. I was bit hurry as other people waited in line to look at it and missed the alignment a bit.
    PA080175_DxO.jpg

It works very well from where you're stood, but what a peculiar effect. It looks like someone has drawn over your image with coloured highlighting pens.

Some fascinating images here, really interesting to see. I'm glad someone is planning to refurbish the building rather than just flattening it, the latter seemingly being the option of choice with old buildings around these parts unfortunately.

What an unusual cloud formation. I love how the edge of the cloud bank is so straight. Nice colours and some neat crepuscular action going on above it.

I had a day off on Friday, which I decided to spend exploring the woodland near Grange in the English Lake District.

I like it as is but if #3 was mine I'd go to town on the processing.

you're welcome to have a go. I think it's a bit of a tricky one.

And yes, a very knobbly rock indeed. Reminds me of something from one of my favourite PC games, The Outer Wilds.

That's not a game I'd ever heard of, but I don't play many these days, which is a shocking revelation when you consider I've spent the last 30+ years programming the damn things. Interesting looking concept though and quite impressive for what is a tiny dev team by modern standards.

This is the same rock taken earlier in the day, from two completely different angles. Another composition I spent ages experimenting with, but never quite got the shot I was looking for.

Outer Wilds is remarkable for being something genuinely different in a very saturated market.
What sort of programming do you do? Pascal or COBOL? ;-)
