I've built games from the ground up, written 3D engines for consoles, ported games across platforms, pretty much most things really. I mostly program in C++ and occasionally C# these days, plus lots of other languages over the years (although I've never professionally touched either Pascal or COBOL, but then there's not a lot of call for those in the game dev circles), although I did start my game dev career writing machine code games on the ZX Spectrum back at the dawn of time in the 80s.
these photos were made in same room so my guess is that this ventilation or heating device located in hole was moved out through this door and the door was "expanded" little bit for this.
Took the bus up to Arthurhaus at 1500m, then hiked to my favourite waterfalls. From there, carried on to the Kopphütte and back home again. It was more or less downhill all the way :-)
Here's just two mountain views from along the way, processed quickly on an ipad.Nice to see that the Autumn colours are finally starting here.
A couple of nights in Bern on the route south. The cathedral is a gothic edifice, with most of the sculptures remoed during the iconoclastic reformation. But the paintings above the main door must have been deemed instructive enough to the populace to have been spared. A graphic illustration of what you can expect...
The city is teeming with trams, trolley buses, electric buses.... all of which approach quietly from unexpected directions, making crossing the road a stressful experience for a country girl like me. On the upside, they're all free to visitors 😀
It took me a minute to work out what the lunch room object were 😁 The 3D painting is really clever. Looks like an interesting place to explore - in daylight!
These carvings are lovely, I especially like the ones depicting hell, reminds me of a fresco in Bologna Cathedral. It is good they are still painted as most of these carvings were originally.
We passed through Bern this summer, I remember it for a huge traffic jam. Next stop Como?
The carvings are quite protected, inside the porch. Reminded me of some frescos in Albi cathedral, and of a much less known panel in Wenhaston church, Suffolk;
Headed south-west. A couple of nights in the top of the Rhone valley, last night in Aosta, now arrived this afternoon at friends holiday home near Briançon for ten days. I'll post a few more pics once I've got organised!
The Rhone glacier is fast disappearing. I wanted to see it before it or I die, whichever is first. 😐
My husband remembers it hanging over the ledge of rock...
There has been an 'ice cave' tourist attraction for many decades, but now, the proprietors have had to cover some of the ice (lower right) in a vain attempt to preserve enough ice to sustain their business.
High up on the glacier you can just make out a couple of tents where some mountaineers are camped. The unstable ice makes this a very dangerous activity.
