I recently returned from a 10-day, 2,741.5-mile road trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah National Park, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and surrounding areas. Here are some of the images I took during my vacation...

These two are really good. The first is such a good comp. Nicely sharp too.

Last weekend we made two hikes.
I posted some shots from that first hike in the "Wednesday C&C thread" if you want to take a look.

Here's some shots from our second hike. We made the most of the last day of the autumn season cable car, at Karbachalm, and rode up to the start of one of our favourite tours. I'm sure you've seen similar autumn photos from me of this tour in the past. Here's this year's offereing.

First there's the usual steep climb up to the double summit of the Schneeberg mountain at 1938m and then about 8 km on, and down, to the saddle point at Dienten at 1342m, where our car was waiting for us ;-)

This colourful time of the year is the prettiest. The leaves of the mountain cranberries have all turned red and the cranberries are ripe. The larch trees are all bright yellow, and that is all mixed in with orange and brown's from other trees and bushes.

The shots look great, my favourite is the first with its bright autumn colours on that sunny day, with a little autumn mist hanging over the water and all being enjoyed by the lady in the foreground :-)

Scotland

I was in Ayr, Scotland for family matters last weekend. I just took the iPhone14 along for those few moments when I had time to look around. For web use the results a disturbingly good. These are out of camera JPEGS. Looks like my LX100 can be retired for casual stuff, even though the image quality is potentially much better.

I had a good view of London when I flew into Heathrow to change planes

I just bought a Google Pixel. I am astonished how good the shots are. I'll post some soon.
You were so lucky to get the London shots. I never seem to get the opportunity.
Most annoyingly, I once flew into New York for a flight transfer and had an amazing view of Manhattan. Never expected it and my camera was in the overhead locker.
