Nice shots but this is excellent, good framing and colours, contemplating person is just icing on cake...

That's cool, took me a while to twig what was going on.

One doers get a sense of the loneliness but it's the mystery of the last shot that appeals to me.

So you have done it. It is always fatal to try good gear. I was expecting to see you get a Leica!

I really like the first shot in this set, the way those hands stand out from the general gloom of the carriage.

Catching the Cranberries in full red splendour, is one of the wonders of hiking in the low mountains. In Italy they use a funny sieve like thing to harvest them.

I think 8 is my favourite in this set

These two pictures are so amazingly beautiful that, having never seen anything quite like them, I personally have difficulty in believing that the subjects of them could really exist! 😀

    Many thanks :-)
But, come on David, you're living in Austria, if I remember correctly?
It would be easy to get your mountain boots on and see this for yourself.
It's not so far from Vienna to the mountains.
Send me a PM if you want to join us on one of the next tours :-)

What do you think is going on?

It's actually a bit of a sad story. The county went out of power for a few weeks. I don't know what happened exactly, but this person's house burnt to the ground while everyone's power was out. I assume an errant fire source, but never heard the facts fully. Thankfully the lady and her kids were ok, but the whole hood was very lucky the whole neighborhood didn't go up with how close all the homes are. They demolished the building all the way the other day. This is all that remains in the lot. Cement and these gas lines(?).

    Two Rocks

The route home from the Alps took us via the country around Macon, a favourite patch of vine clad slopes and dramatic ciffs. The two rocks of Solutre and Vergisson make for a great circular hike on a fine autumn day.

Sigh... Good weather in the autumn alps - can't beat it. We left early because of the rain 😐

Oh dear, I got that totally wrong. I thought they were copper pipes jammed into the ground for a firework display. I sometimes forget that we are the only country that 'celebrates' Guy Fawkes night.

Hi Jim. Not your 'normal' subject?! You've been a stranger around this thread for so long we forget what your normal subjects are 😉
Good shot this, like a ground to air missile.
