I'm having more than the usual problems with this forum slide show not displaying photos in the order posted. It is very annoying and really distracts from my ability to enjoy the work posted and comment to the correct photographer.

Agree. It was quick grab shot because it was freezing and I intend to re-take it.

I enjoy Q2 more than I expected. I think subconsciously I am conditioned to like it, regardless of what after spending all this money :)

Undoubtedly the technology is moving forward at great speed and I periodically use my phone (samsung S21) in the absence of a real cam, but to me personally there is no comparison. There is a place and time for it, but It's all about haptics. It's like driving manual vs automatic...

Nevertheless, good shot. It demonstrates what can be achieved with today's smart phone lens.

Both very nice shots. Interesting how the coat and hat match the period of the large wheel bicycle.

Agree. Apparently Admin is working on solutions. We have to be patient. I hope Flat view vs Threaded is on the top of the list...

First one for me is the winner. Excellent.

At first glance they look similar but yes, break up on closer inspection.

I believe my mobile uses a technique similar to Olympus' Live Composition, it takes a base exposure then adds moving objects to it.

    That's a good angle.

Some people link to shots on Flickr etc. rather than uploading the actual image.

I like the expression on the guy's face. The processing is a little flat by your standards?
The second is a fine shot.

Interesting idea. I could link to my lightroom gallery. However, I haven't seen anyone else do that and without that it doesn't help me viewing their photos.

None of these problems... no delete... flaky slide show... threaded conversations... exist on dpreview.com. I haven't been here consistently this year so I don't know what conversation transpired that caused you to decide to keep this thread here after dpreview.com announced that it would stick around.

Because the guys here invested a lot of time, effort and money to get this site running when DPR announced it was closing. I felt it morally right to support them after DPR changed its mind again.

    Castello di Carpineti

This is one on my favourite places in the mid Apennines, with some lovely views. There was an extremely strong wind blowing and the bad weather causing havoc in Tuscany, was trying to breach the Apennines. I have posted pictures of this castle before.

We call this "nubi di sbarramento" which has no real translation, the nearest being blocked clouds, it is usually a sign of approaching bad weather from Tuscany. Not even hand held HDR allowed me to do justice to the scene, without falling into HDR over-processing.

This is a medieval castle that sits atop a steep escarpment. It was one of the fortifications erected by Matilde of Canossa a medieval lady warlord It is now closed for the winter, but it is easy to enter via a hole in the back wall, for a clandestine visit in the winter.
