Brismantova

The Pietra di Brismantova is a strange rock formation that juts out of the mid Apennines near Reggio. It features in Dante's Inferno. I wanted to try to reach its flat summit along another less frequented footpath. I quickly discovered why nobody uses this path to the top! It was a really hard slog up the steep footpath.

Just some snaps from a Sunday afternoon walk. Everything shot on my 24-200.

I am quite surprised to see that face masks are making a bit of a comeback, I have just come back from the bakers, and the assistants were both kitted out with facemasks. I see a few people in supermarkets wearing them too. I occasionally find one at the pockets of my winter jackets that I havent worn for a while.

Decay

I must confess that I look forward to to seeing your countryside pictures when they appear. I love these.
In particular 3 and the gorgeous 4th. Although maybe 4 has a blue tinge?

The first really draws you into its depths. And I'm happy to go.

Austrian market day
Last week, in the "wednesday C&C thread", I showed some pictures of a walk in the autumn woods.
On the way back from that we walked through the central street of the little town of old Attnang
The band was playing and there were several market stalls and Austrian farmer donuts were being made.

Christmas time is good here for the scary Perchten parades. These costumes are famous for being the uggliest and scariest in the world.
Here's a not-so-scary one, displayed in the market. Maybe I'll get some photos of them in action when the parades start in December.

...and here's the "Bauernkrapfern" or farmer's donuts in English. There's certainly no hole in our donuts !

If looks could kill.

Another week, another round of beers, another rock show.
This time nothing as exotic as last week, just regular metal/trash/death music :D What surprised me was that most of public was 2-3 times younger than me...
For this event I rented Panasonic's 10-25 f/1.7 lens. I missed some mm-s from wider end and zoom was working "wrong" way, apart from that it was quite good lens for such event. I had also other lensed with me but didn't use them at all...

I really like these dynamic shots, which really convey the hard rock vibe. I like the way toy put those lights to good use. Brilliant.

The first shot I find very "Austrian" for some reason, maybe the uniforms. The parade should be fun.

Always some curious "dressing up" to be see in London. I like the guy inside looking out, but maybe the guy on the left need cropping out.

I get the mask, but not the plastic hair net. I presume this was a hotel and not a hospital.

The first is very nicely seen. I presume it is a reflection.
