    Multi Storey Car Park.jpg

Just checked this and wow, what a difference posted here to how it looks on my monitor. Has an overly blue cast and looks flat. Haven't got time today to tweak it for the web so you'll just have to imagine it as I see it.

    Duomo di Fidenza

My Engineering studio has had a good year, so I treated myself to a Laowa 15mm PC lens. I have been sitting on the fence regarding this lens for some time as reviews were a bit contradictorily. I wish I had bought one sooner, as it seems a very capable lens.

To test it out, I made a visit to the (tripod friendly) Duomo in Fidenza to put it through its paces and fill in some gaps I left on my first visit. I really needed the 15PC for the façade shot. as the piazza in front of the church is very narrow. The Duomo is late Romanesque, leaning towards Gothic with some incredible carvings on the façade many attributed to Antelami, who is more famous for his work in Parma. The interior is rather plain, but imposing. The 24mm TS and the old 35mm PC were also used for this set together with the 24-200 for detail shots.

I was just getting ready to go home, when they turned the external lighting on. The blue hour mix of lighting was great for photography.

Milone and Berta. Love has intervened to make both of them renounce their chastity, a book on the meaning behind these carvings tells me ( look where Milone's hand is).

Look like a fabulous place to visit. More than blue, it seems a little dark on my screen.

My new Portfolio on THE PHOTO (DPRevived)

This week instead of adding just a photo here, I'd like to show you a whole portfolio of images :-)
Alan Sharkey has spent a lot of time creating a new Portfolio feature on DPREVIVED and Alan asked for contributions from us all.
I jumped at the chance for displaying my work, and you could do the same too if you'd like to have your own portfolio.

Here's the link to my portfolio

    and a screenshot teaser ;-)

    hope you like it :-)

    The second is spectacular.
I think I might have perspective cropped a tiny bit from the bottom of the last shot. The trees are perfect but the horizon appears to be tilted. It's a bit like a shelf that looks tilted but is perfect when checked with a level.

Ha! A simple case of cutting and pasting, coupled with a lack of time. It was meant to be 'A Hard Day at the Office'.

Looks good to me! Although the low perspective gives the impression the building is a little squat. No in the illegal residents sense ;-)
But I've not seen it in real life.

And I love the architecture in the penultimate. Nicely lit too, by you and the floods.

Yup, it's a shame. I really like this shot, it really pops in PS. If I get time I'll investigate.

Wow - an amazing portfolio there. Each picture is a winner on its own (particularly the drizzling water shot) but shown as a gallery with a common theme they really bounce off of each other.
