A touch dark but that really seems to emphasise the distant focal point.

    Bologna

I am coming to the end of my Romanesque project, and now I am starting to move forward in time to explore Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Also Bologna, which is hour down the Autostrada, is a city that I have never really explored. So on Sunday I went to see the Gothic San francesco, with a couple of Renaissance items tacked onto the visit. A virtual visit on Google maps has thrown up an almost endless list of places and things to photograph, in this city.

San Francesco needs another visit as I was not to happy with what I shot.

This set was shot with a Z7 + Nikon 24PC and 24-200, on the monopod, with feet. I had some weird sharpness problems with this shoot, so I did some testing this week and I found that with a small mod with sticky tape to the ball joint between the feet and the monopod, I can replicate the sharpness of my heavy tripod.

Well that's odd, the first shot seems to have some kind of optical illusion. It appears to have barrel distortion and a tilt to the right. But I put a grid over it and it seems bang on.
The 3rd is one of those that comes to life when viewed large, razor-sharp and a nice starburst.
    And #4 is nice too.

Yes, looking more carefully you are right. I think the fact the building has a lighter area in the centre, is playing tricks with our eyes.

    Walk in park

About week ago I took walk in local park. Weather was nice and winterly, fresh knee-deep snow falling from sky. Not much is left from it thanks to thaw, the nice snow has turned into cold and hard ice, so I leave house voluntarily only to run on icy streets (thanks to Icebugs which make it possible). Anyway, I at least have some photos what I can look at and dream how proper winter looks like...
