In contrast (to above), that's quite dark.

What is this screen made of? Marble? Or just painted plaster?
I shall miss your romanesque project - I hope you'll continue to treat us to some gems from time to time. I'm afraid gothic style doesn't give me such a warm feeling!

I rather like this one, with the undulating ground emphasised by the snow.

    It is carved from marble.

I still have some Romanesque sites to visit. S Ambrogio in Milan which is an important one and new ones in my area of action still turn up, like one I found near Bologna the other day.

I am still trying to figure out Lombard Gothic, but the style seems very uniform.

At least you have seen some snow this year. Here it was over and done with very quickly. I feel chilly looking at this set.

These are best, when seen big. What a savage landscape.

Were you out early for this hike?

Not desperately early. Sunrise was about 8am. We were staying in the Parador hotel, just across the road, so back in time for breakfast šŸ˜ In the last pano you can make out the rocks (Roques Garcia) at the base of the caldera, and the hotel building surrounded by parked cars later in the day. Paradors are state-owned hotels, often in historic buildings or unique locations. This one is relatively modern but the only place you can stay in the National Park, and well worth a few nights.

She was right- the things the Green party did was horrendous. To Quote:
"Now the smoke has cleared and the future looks brighter. The Greens were sentimental sadists when they were in charge: sweet words smeared over actions of cruelty and callousness. A friend who moved to Stockholm told me: ā€˜The UK Greens seem to use ecology as an excuse to ruin peopleā€™s lives while the Swedes make the green thing about enhancing peopleā€™s lives.ā€™ Sheā€™s right."

A classic street shot. The B&W with high contrast helps a lot

Fresh new snow is a great thing. Looks like you had a nice tour here.
The photos all look a bit dark to me and feel somewhat cold and even a bit bleak. Maybe that's how it really was. But when I go out in the snow I'll be wearing warm clothes, and the walking itself keeps me warm. It doesn't usually feel gloomy while walking, but has an uplifting, invigorating effect and I start to look for the warm colours shining though, especially when the sun come out a bit :-)
When I get back to the computer, I'll lift the shadows a bit and let those colours and snow details shine through.

    Here's a quick edit,

The snow looks delightful! When we get snow, it spends more time looking grey and miserable as it slowly turns to trampled ice and slush.

Lots of snow on your side of the Alps!. we have no snow in the Apennines. It came and went very quickly. Looks like a fun escursion.

I like the second, the clouds give a natural vignette.
