    Galloway hills.

Went for a walk up into the local hills this week.

There are many waterfalls, many of them called Grey Mare's Tail 😁

Looks like a wonderful place to walk.

I like the effect in the penultimate shot, has it been softened in post?

Yes, the last two have had a mild Orton effect applied in PS (a layer of Gaussian blur). This seemed to be the most effectve way to portray the way branches glowed in the sunlight.

I love the look of the water in this one - almost looks like geometric shapes rushing down. Is it a multiple exposure shot?

I'm usually not a fan of photo collages... but because it was a recent theme in one of the weekly flickr groups I'm participating in, I made two:

What if the ordinary is already exceptional?
    by simple.joy, on Flickr

Both are from recent walks, where I had my camera with me. It's incredible to me how much there's to see (and shoot), if you're able to keep your eyes open. I've not been able to during most walks in the last couple of years, due to having my (small) kids with me... Now that they're a bit older, it opens new possibilities and I'm starting to enjoy that.

Both are interesting compilations. The individual images in the second one are great but I find the jagged white borders detract. Would a narrower black background work better?
I can relate to the limitations of photography with young kids around! But looking back, they grow up very quickly!

Tried that... didn't work for me! I agree though that it's not ideal. I wasn't able find a better option which was still able to separate the images enough.

It's actually four individual exposures blended in post. I prefer this to the long exposures usually seen of waterfalls as it seems to convey more of the energy of the water. It also means I don't have to carry a tripod 😁

I very much like the creative „jagged“ borders!

    Moment
Moment is name of exhibition, part of which was shown on billboards in city. And as you can imagine, caused quite lot of polarizing opinions by showing familiar (though AI interpreted) images of destructed buildings.

Here is one such billboard, causing 'what if...' or 'I'm grateful that...' thoughts..

A really cool idea to make a collage of your walk. These are really nicely done, especially the inclusion of the pencils in the first ne.

I took a look at the links.

Maybe these are a healthy warning, given all the gung ho military talk revolving around Ukraine and Russia at the moment.

It wasn't exactly fog down there, but was a bit more than just haze hanging over the Traunsee lake,...

Fog is a gift for all of us. I like the last one not because of the hikers but the composition.

It is a quite a political statement. I guess it is influenced by Ukraine and what's happening over there.
