    The Hills Above Parma

After a job near Parma, I wandered around the hills near Langhirano, the home of Parma Ham.

I wanted to photograph the Abbazia di San Basilide, with the 15mm shift, for my Romanesque project, to get the whole façade in the shot. I also experimented with the 28-400 for detail shots. The rest are just things that caught my eye in this area.

    Our First Hot Day

Today the summer heat arrived. We jumped to the very humid thirties. Our cat is feeling the heat, for his afternoon nap.

Just dropping in to say hello. I am usually teaching on Saturdays these days, and so I haven't posted anything in ages. I am still photographing shelter dogs -- about 50 or more dogs per week. It never ends.

Zuko, who emerged from the smoldering ruins of a house fire. You can see some of the burns on his left ear, and there are much more substantial burns on his left side. Fortunately, a rescue scooped him up pretty quickly.

Randa, who I am surprised is still at the shelter.

Toddle, who reappeared at the shelter recently after several years.

Pharaoh, who is labeled as hyperactive but was 100% good boy for the camera.

Coral, who I imagine will get scooped up pretty quickly.

I believe it is good to shape one's photography around a project, it certainly helps me to make more focused photography.

Thre is a certain "Third Man" atmosphere to this set, especially the people with the dog in deep shadow.

I see you made good use of IBIS, with this set. I see you got a nice sharp picture at 1/8,1/15 is about my limit.

Hello! Nice to see you around!
I have to admit I'm not really a dog person, but your shots are excellent portraits. Have you been on any travels recently?
