Looks quite cute and fluffy in the 3rd. Although not to a mouse I'm guessing.

Don't be deceived, it'd probably have your eye out given half a chance. To a little mouse minding its own business, having one of these things patrolling the area is really bad news, they are very efficient flying death machines.

Here are some shots from our hikes in Carinthia 2-3 weeks ago

if you open up the full res version, you can see the "Erlacher Bock Hütte" in the distance. We hiked to that mountain hut 2 days later. They serve a great "Speck Brot mit Bier" :-)

Behind the "Oswalder Bock Hütte" in this shot you can see an area about half way up the mountain full of smallish green boulders

    here a little closer
    DSC_4415 smaller.JPG

Much closer up you can see that the green colour comes from lichens

Loads of pretty flowers everywhere on that walk :-)

Well, I did a thing last week. After many years of dithering, I went back to Nikon with a Z6iii. I started shooting with a Sony A6400 a couple of years ago as a stopgap. It was simply the cheapest way to solve autofocus issues for my dog photography. Although the autofocus was amazing, I never warmed up to the rest of the camera. At the same time, I couldn't quite warm up to what Nikon had to offer either. When the Z6iii came out, I knew that it was the goldilocks camera I had been looking for, and I bought it without hesitation. So far I am super happy with it.

Some of this week doggies ...

These two have stunning light, was the second captured with a polz filter?
I had some home-made limoncello when we went to a little winery for an evening meal. It was delicious. Can't stand the stuff normally.

I was lucky that the sun came out in Salo. I did a little dodging in C1, but no polarising filter. For once I was at the right place at the right time.

Home made or artisan made Limoncello, or Laurino (Laurel berries) , is very different to the mass market stuff.

Hope you enjoy the new camera. Looks like it is doing the job well.

Your dog portraits are really wonderful. You give these dogs a personality.

PS looking at these, cheered me up no end, after an exchange of opinons elsewhere in this forum, after I received unpleasant racist reply about the Italians.

We rented a cottage just a short evening walk from the Ring of Brodgar, a 5000 year old neolithic 'henge', surrounded by lochs and wildflowers.

    And She's Off!

In an instant she opened her wings and flew from the post, naturally I tracked her smoothly, probably too smoothly as all I got was a shot of her undercarriage as seen in this uncropped shot.

This one's nice and sharp 😉
BIFs are notoriously tricky, you've done well! When I come up with a few failed attempts I always tell myself to practise more, but then by the time i find another opportunity it's all slipped away again...
    Lovely backstory as usual.

    Marvellous mountains 😀

As well as the gentians and silene (pink flowers) in the last one you can see the leaf rosettes of a minuscule primula - maybe P. minima. The leaves always make me think of mole's paws coming up from their burrow 😁
