Sad to see those mangnificent and built with care buildings in sorry state. And have to agree about bee shelter, I don’t think here is anything similar built.

I have to agree, first shot is best, cows being subject there make it more interesting.

Penkiln

The Penkiln Burn has been in spate this week, though subsiding now - at least for the time being.

A daily walk takes us over this bridge and past the old mill. The recent stormy weather saw the water level almost up to the lower windows, with the old wheelroom a metre deep in water. Huge boulders have appeared and disappeared, along with tree trunks that have been stuck for years now gone without trace.

The peaty water always puts me in mind of dark bottle glass or even vocanic obsidian glass.

These two are both well done.

I'm ashamed to say I have never visited Hartpury tithe barn, though I'm familiar with others in the area, and indeed have even sung in concerts in some of them! The bee shelter is wonderful. It takes a visitor to unearth things that the locals don't know or bother about. Thanks for this - it'll go on the list for next trip south!

The scree rivers look really interesting, as you say, streaming out of the clouds.

Railway lines like this are so evocative.
A square crop might work well here?

Very nice scene and the rail lines work well as leading lines but as in the other thread you posted your image, the near blown sky is a distracting eye magnet for me and so detracts a little from the image.

It was shown in the other thread that the sky is largely recoverable (using ACR). To what extent the sky is recovered is obviously up to you.

These came to life when I saw them enlarged, especially the third shot. I like the idea of the water going in different directions.
