Photography has been impossible this week, thanks to the continuous torrential rain, that we have been blessed with.

So here re two that I did not post last week, of my last expedition into the Apennines.

An unusual take on Sienna, and all the better for that.

Sienna is on my list of places to visit.

I like that record shop, very different from our towns last remaining record shop.

A very Oriental vibe in all these shots.

The guy on the left looks huge. The photo is all about him, despite the background. Even the other guy is looking toward him.
    What is mirra? Coffee?
I heard recently that cassettes are 'trending' again. Although I do miss *proper * hifi systems, with racks of power hungry components, cool dials and backlit displays.

The first is mind-bending, the water seems to be mid-air. And the second is spectacular, if too tight at top and bottom but then you already knew that.

    Water of Minnoch

Went for a walk yesterday along the Water of Minnoch, a small river that flows into the Cree below Glentrool. We walked for over two hours along part of the Southern Uplands Way and saw not a soul. Very autumnal.

According to the OS map, this is the Old Bridge of Minnoch, but I couldn't find any path leading to it. Maybe easier from the other bank - an expedition for another day. A little research tells me it is probably an 17th or 18th century packhorse bridge. The first part of the path we took seemed to be very well made, stony beneath the grass, and I wondered about it's origin, so maybe the packhorse track that leads to the bridge? At some point it deteriorated into a muddy way thorough the vegetation, so further investigation might reveal the original route.

The colours of tuscan brick and olive leaves are a fantastic combination - part of my favourite colour triad, all it needs is a stormy violet sky to complete 😃

Great characters. Are those fish mackerel? Or palamut?

The Mırra article is interesting. I had never appreciated the difference between turkish and arabic coffee.

I like the quiet compositions of the first and third shots. It is always intriguing to come across these old abandoned pack horse bridges that now lead to nowhere. We have several in the mountains above where I live.

And the shot after is nice too.

Yes he was a tall man.

Mırra is an extremely bitter coffee, compared to it, a double espresso tastes sweet.
