    @ ChrisOly

The last here really captures the chill in the air.
Shame you didn't point the camera up a little for #2, I like the 'brackets' made by the sails. Although the expanse of foreground water does tell a story.

    Autumn in Knockman Wood

One of our local walks in Galloway. It's been very damp and grey all week, and not forecast to change much...

There are many old mills and sites of mills on the local burns. This is a 'waulk mill', or cloth carding mill. The original mill wheel still exists in the room behind the lower right window, but it's sadly no longer functional. the water to drive it was taken higher up the burn and fed via a wooden channel across the face of the building and in via an opening where one of the windows is now.
The bridge is known as Queen Mary's bridge, after Mary, Queen of Scots, though I don't think she had any connection with the area.

    In search of Autumn

Yesterday I was hoping that in the mid Apennines, that I could find some Autumn colour, but it has not really arrived yet.

In fact it was a disastrous walk. I wanted to get to an old ruined mill, and I had a map in my rucksack. But relying on memory I missed the right path at a certain point, and ended up on a slippery overgrown footpath with a shear drop on one side. Totally lost, I managed to find my bearings thanks to a church tower and re-joined the footpath back to the car. Photo opps, were pretty scarse too.

I came across some Chestnut Orchards, with nothing photogenic, but did come across this hut.

At the end of my walk this old tower house caught my eye

I really like the last three in this set, especially the mill. The dull light is quite suited to this set.

Really like these two. Beautiful setting.
The verticals on the building could maybe use a tweak. Sorry, you know what I'm like...
