    Devil's Leap

I have visited this strange landscape in the Apennines above Parma before, but it it is a great area for a winter walk. The rock formations are due to differential erosione.

    DSC_7321 1.jpg

The cable bridge needed to be rebuilt after the torrent swollen by heavy rain tore the old one down. The sensibly built it much higher this time.

Just a quick post of two pictures before I rush off out for a trip.
These two are from a nice walk though the old city of Krumlov just over the border from Austria in the Czech Republic.
It was reasonably warm and the sun was shining and we actually sat outside for meal in the restaurant in these pictures

Late last month, I had a "saturation biopsy" done under anesthesia to determine if my very high PSA levels meant I had Prostate Cancer. On Thursday, I learned the results, and they were negative, so I am completely clear of cancer. 😀

The assignment for my camera club this month was vertical panoramas. We were required to combine at least three photos across by three photos high. These were my submissions...

    Concert shots

Shots from one concert. As warmup one local band performed, then 2 bands from Finland. Rock-metal show.

Local band's singer. Seems to have groupies, in public placards could be seen and after show red bra was flying to stage. With home keys attached to it :D

It's nice to see you posting a landscape. 😉 I like the variety of colors.

If it were mine I would have cropped off quite a bit of the right and the bottom to make the hillsides in the background more prominent.

This has a lot of potential, but I would have made the background to the left and the right completely black, so it was all about the bridge without the streaks of light distracting.

EDIT: After posting I've noticed you have to view full screen to see the streaks of light to which I refer.

I much prefer the first shot because there is more emphasis on the water. It is a very pleasing shot.

    Time passes

I haven't done any photography for a couple of weeks, mainly due to preoccupation with tasks at the 'new' house. But I have been trying to get my catalogue in order, and found these two images of the Penkiln Burn taken from the same spot. We had a wet summer followed by a fairly dry autumn (contrary to much of the UK), hence the summer shot has more water in the burn than the more recent one.

This is the best of these two. I would have darkened the sunlight in the background and lightened the falls.

Looks like a scene from some eastern european fairytale. The glimpse of the lake through the gap between trees and buildings makes a very effective composition.

Good to hear you're fit and healthy.
    Vertical panoramas? I would have assumed this meant panos with individual images stitched one above the other, but maybe there was other guidance? I have found vertical ones a bit more tricky to get the projection looking reasonable;

A photogenic bridge. I wonder the view of the stream from it. Erosion is so obvious on the other shots, the earth crust looks like a layered cake.
