Here's a few shots from our second trip last weekend.
The plan was to get the hiking bus up to near a mountain hut then just hike down.
Little did we know that the hiking buses had already stopped running this season.
...So we had to walk up and down ;-)

Still close to the village. The light and shadows opposite looked nice here. I might remove those electrical cables later.
    DSC_7459 smaller.JPG

... doesn't take long to get on the trail
    DSC_7469 smaller.JPG

About half way up there's a fenced of resovoir that feeds, apart from other things, the snow cannons below

    DSC_7471 smaller.JPG

...and there are some big fish down there. Of course fishing is forbidden :-)
    DSC_7507 smaller.JPG

    DSC_7506 smaller.JPG

Closer to our goal now, this shot seemed to work better in B&W with the contrast turned up
    DSC_7481 smaller.JPG

one of the same tree in colour
    DSC_7486 smaller.JPG

and finally a view of the mountain hut that we had as our goal. It was also closed, but we knew that ;-)

Yes, it is that time of year when hiking is a joy on a sunny day, but everything seems to close.

I would like one of those fish, before me, nicely cooked with some almonds.

    Certosa di Parma

Finally made it to the Abbazia di Valserena, Parma. Better known as the "Certosa di Parma" as in Stendhal's book of the same name.

The abbey was deconsecrated by Napoleon Bonaparte, and was used for all sorts of humble uses, until the University of Parma, restored the site to house their visual art archives. It was a pretty foggy day, and I do not know if the fog added or hindered my photography.

I mostly use my 24mm Nikon PC for this set

I think the fog made the building look quite foreboding here.
What gives with the two sets of stairs at different levels?
The cloisters shot is a bit skewed, most unlike you.
    Enjoyed these.

I could not figure out the two sets of steps either. Pretty weird.

Thanks fixed. I must learn to use the grid more!

I confess that I dont know how to fix the elliptical shape of the two close pillars, but it looks a bit odd. 😀

That you cannot fix. It is a property of the 14mm super wide lens.

I went on an evening hike a few days ago and found these patterns the snow from the night before had left on these trees interesting. And I caught a near full moon on my way back.
