    Valle Re

The Valle Re is one of my favourite places to take a walk in the spring. I have posted pictures I have taken here before, but it is always different.

Valle Re is a series of springs that surface in the Po valley plain. A series of little lakes have formed, and the place was flooded after all our recent rain. I came across a rather moth eaten hare on my walk, and the 400 end of the 28 -400 came in useful.

    March sunshine

March is my favourite month of the year. The light is clear, the sun is a welcome on your back, theres a sense of everything just getting ready to expand into the warmth and light, but without the urgency of later in the spring when demands of dealing with all that growth kick in in the garden! So I went for a walk in the woods.

The pile of stones in the distance is a neolithic chambered cairn burial site, long since robbed of its contents. Probably 4-5000 years old.

These two have a particularly mesozoic feel to them - I half expect ot see a brontosaurus emerging from the undergrowth 😀

There's a lot to think about in this one. Quite tricky working out waht's reflection and what's not. The human figure makes all the difference.

Fabulous shot. Moonlight on snow is a wonderful opportunity, and the trees draw the eye up to the starry sky.

Those windblown trees fit perfectly with an ancient burial site. The branches in the third shot are fantastic.

Yes, it is a good time of year when it stops raining.
