    Damson blossom time

Our new home overlooks the Lyth valley in Cumbria, centre of the Cumbrian damson growing area. With this week's warm weather, the trees are coming into blossom. The trees are scattered around the small local farms, adding a white froth to the picturesque scene. I haven't had much time for photography lately, but took the camera along on yesterday's evening stroll.

Being on that beach would be my idea of hell, but it's a great photo! Balance, colour, depth - it has it all.

    Old town, new camera

On Wednesday I took deep dive with my credit card and bought OM-3. On Thursday it was very warm (+17C, right now it's 0 and land is covered with snow...) so I took my camera out to show it old town.
It was fun to shoot and try different creative modes (I used mono, soft focus with stars effect and vivid modes) though handling is not optimal, as it's quite heavy camera without grip, missing focus point joystick and creative mode dial is too tight, requiring two fingers to turn. But my main reasons to replace OM-5 with OM-3 was similarity to my main camera OM-1, including battery, this makes it easier to switch between cameras.
All images are SOOC as DXO does not support OM-3 yet.

Street of old town. Sometimes gets busy, mostly from tourists, mostly from Finland.

As flag says, photo museum behind town hall, exhibiting old cameras and photos. I've visited it years ago, maybe need to revisit.

Ad for Fotografiska exhibition of Erwitt's photos. I visited it couple of weeks ago, great experience, quite few photos made me laugh. But if anything then it made me want to photograph something similar. I just need to accustom to BW world, it's quite different from colour and one needs to work with shapes and light instead of colours to make good photo.

    The Pinnacle

I decided to go back to a favourite place for my Sunday afternoon walk. The Sassi di Roccamalatina, are two pinnacles that rise out of the surrounding landscape. You can climb one of them via stairs that were cut into the rocks long ago. It was a slippery climb as it had been raining.

Nothing like a new camera to stimulate the photographic appetite. Not being able to shift the focus point with a joy stick seems like a big omission. How do you move the focus point with this camera?

I like the vibe in this last shot.
