On a walk last year called "The 3 lake walk" in Carinthia we came across this stone circle. A fairy ring?

How beautiful. A good composition too.

    Wood of Cree

We're back up in Galloway this weekend for the last time, clearing the last few things from the house and visiting a few favourite places. This is another fragment of 'Celtic' temperate rainforest - excpt that there has been not a drop of rain in five weeks now. The river is running very low and the mosses are all dried up. The plus side is that there are some places where you can see right through the clear water without distracting ripples and flow. There are also pied flycatchers and wood warblers to be heard - and glipmsed if you are lucky.

These are lovely. Especially the first. We are worryingly short of rain down here too. Talking about hosepipe bans already.

These need to be seen big. The last one especially comes to life when seen enlarged, and is my favourite.

To be honest I have no idea,
Perhaps it is even a modern attraction added along this route?

Democracy at work. I realized later that camera settings were incorrect and camera kept low ISO and lowering shutter speed in auto minimum shutter speed, I usually set minimum shutter speed faster to avoid getting such shaken images.

A good question. I think we as photographers are drawn to "interesting" light like the high contrast light in this shot. Why you take pictures in this style that you dislike is probably because we are so used to seeing unusual lighting situations like this in other peoples pictures, which attract our attention. So we make a picture that will attract attention too.

I dislike taking b’cause I want to make different types of photos. I want to really capture emotions, spontaneity and the movement of human beings. Instead of persevering through difficult shots, I’m drawn to this kind of shot.

That must be a temple, or a special place and I am sure it is lined up with other sites nearby.

I think there will be be a hose pipe ban soon. The weather is so unpredictable everywhere now.

Yes, I love contrasty street photography too. More difficult to get right than people think. Forgive me but I was tempted to have a play around with this one. Hope you don't mind.
