I am glad you have avoided the sinkhole.

Interesting photo, first light leads to statues and then you start to look at darker parts and discover things there. Seems like under bridge of some sort...

Seems like it's hot for both of them :D Great moment captured.

First 2 are giving this summer feeling really well, third is nicely captured movement by wind. My favorites from this set.

I like this shot, nice angle to capture this delicate beauty of orchid.

Race for good cause. Seems like all kind of riders were there, from serious athletes to enthusiasts. Must be nice to have such space for bicycle riding, even if for just one day in year.

I am going to be boring and post yet another picture of the Sydney Opera House. Hopefully a slightly different perspective.

What a strange creature! Looks like a Lizard Orchid, probably Himantoglossum adriaticum.

That first would make a great, moody B&W.
Lovely to see orchids in the wild.

I know some flowers mimic insects to try to lure them in for a mate. This certainly looks like a spider hiding inside. Although not sure that's going to lure too many bugs in!

Yes, I did a search and it certainly is a Himantoglossum adriaticum. Google picture search is quite good for this sort of thing.

    Some birds

Haven't posted birds for a while, now since I'm out of other shots I'll present some.

Scored some swift shots but as you can imagine most of the shots were either out of focus or swift was partially or completely out of frame. I'm too old for this swift...

I don’t think you’re old enough to retire yourself yet, this shot is very nice. I love swifts – they’re incredible little wonders. The distance they cover for their annual migration is phenomenal.

This is my pick. I love orchids, and I seriously missed the warm weather and sun here.
