Back Streets
Spent a while yesterday exploring the back streets of Kendal.
The figure on the gable represents Miles Thompson, nineteenth century architect responsible for many of the public buildings in Kendal.

Como
This is the last of my visit to Lake Como. Basilica di Sant'Abbondio, is on the outskirts of Como, next to some railway sidings. Although Romanesque, it is the Gothic Frescoes, that are the most interesting thing here. The Three Kings sharing a bed, with an angel telling them to go, is weird. The sculptors also has a thing about cats.
I was able to use my tripod for these shots, as the place was pretty deserted.

David Hockney came to mind when I saw this. Like the geometric play in this shot.

I really like this shot. It is like a book open in front of you. The version with the green door is better than the version below I think.

I prefer the green gate to be included. It draws the eye immediately and then you get the bonus of a second photo to the left. I normally would counsel against having two focal points in one photo but it works here.

No 1 of my picks above - Great light.
No 2 - Love the ship appearing through the mist.
No 3 - the blur adds something, like a painterly effect.
No 4 - This gives Steve a run for his money.
No 5 - Very dramatic and I like the brown hue. -
