    I have not been much inspired to do any photography recently, as I have been occupied with other interests, such as a serious (and expensive) update to my audio system. HiFi can be a rabbit hole worse than photography gear. €400,000 for a pair of speakers anyone!

    Anyway here is a weird bell tower, that I came across on Lake Como. It was pretty impossible to photograph.

    One of my old pictures of London resurfaced in the Guardian this week, I came across it by chance. I submitted the picture to a request for readers pictures, some years ago, and I did not expect to be paid. It's bit cheeky using it for free again to illustrate an article.

    This weekend is Station Narva weekend, city and music festival. I'm not much into music in festival as it's not rock enough 😀 but more for photo opportunities.
    Some initial shots from camera, showing castle and free opening performance by folk-electronic band.

    I found this shot interesting, because we have that bagpipe instrument here in the South of Italy too. Folk traditions in Europe have travelled over the centuries.

    The castle looks pretty bleak.

    I think you photographed the tower very well in the first although I wish it wasn't 'touching' its frame on the left.
    The punk pictures, and the fact they were published, are very cool. Although by the time those extreme haircuts were more common, it was already dying out.

    Yes, the whole Punk thing was over very quickly thinking back. The more agreeable New Wave took its place pretty quickly. I did see the Vibrators at the Marquee, which was pretty wild. No, I never had a haircut like that.

    Ha! The Vibrators. "She drives a black cadillac, whips and furs in the back..." Loved that song, even though they were considered a tiny bit uncool. And The Marquee, a perfect venue for that sort of music. I loved the smell of that place and its sticky floors.
    I actually did have a rather 'lively' haircut back then. Loved punk. Loved it. Living near central London in New Cross and Lewisham, being 16 at the time, it was kismet. Also nearby Bromley had a very early punk contingent with Siouxsie et al. Drank with Squeeze, X-Ray Spex and Wire a few times.
    <sighs>
    Sorry, disappeared down memory lane there. And my lively haircut is history. In fact all haircuts are history.

    Looking ahead to filling my new garden, I bought a handful of favourite plants with the intention of letting them bulk up and then dividing to help fill the new borders after the building work is finished... if it ever starts...

    The London pictures are fantastic. A real trip down memory lane. I always wanted to wear fishnets, but was never brave enough 😁

    A very pretty selection. Yes, always a good idea to buy small plants before you need them. Nurture them and save a huge amount of money. I bought a ton of small shrubs in lockdown just for the hell of it and many are established in my garden now,

    Great context capture to follow up the story.
    The castle, people and even a vehicle.
    I like the pp colonization or lack of it. It certainly adds an interest.
