I'm sure there's a better edit I could do but this was through a thick blue helicopter window and it has been tricky to make it in any way presentable. But it gives a good sense of scale when one sees the tiny humans at the foot of the statue.
    I will have another attempt.

From Eminönü, you can see the Galata Tower, the Galata Bridge, the Karaköy passenger ferry port, and the Bosphorus. It was a very nice evening with a breeze that created waves.

An amazing vista, complimented by a dramtic sky.
And a little green fish at the bottom ;-)

It’s definitely something! I was too lazy to get rid of it, but I think it might actually be a fish!

    Messing with new DXO

Noticed that DXO photolab v9 has AI selection for local edits, so purchased it and now messing with it, trying to selectively edit subjects (more light) and background (darker and blurred). It's probably easier for other kind of shots than my last rock show photos, where Italian band played very powerful and driven rock. All the smoke and darkness and long hairs make AI harder to separate subject and background from each other. But I see potential here.
Some overly processed shots just for fun, published ones are more tame...

    Fruitfullness

It's been a very wet week - and that's before the rain warning came into effect...
But in a brief respite in the weather I took a short walk up to a nearby viewpoint.

There are bumper crops on all the fruit trees this year following the sunny spring. Blackberries and damsons are finished now, but hawthorns, sloes, apples, rose hips all laden with fruit.

From the viewpoint at Helsington church the view of the Lyth valley seemed to be mostly water. This area has pumped drainage (it's mostly only about 4m above sea level), and would otherwise be natural wetland with reedbeds.

A view that would be hard to better. The receding lines of distant hills are the icing on the cake.

Wonderful atmospheric sky, and great composition with the illuminated bridge leading to the tower. I can really get the sense of the breezy evening on the choppy water. Almost smell the frying fish 😁

This is a clear winner for me. Very unusual that two focal points work in a pic (think I also said that only a couple of weeks or so back) but they do here.
