    A WALK AFTER WORK

I finished a business meeting this past Friday afternoon and had some extra time to spare. So, I stopped for a quick walk along the waterfront and fiddled around with the camera. Always fun! :-) Just some street scenes. Nothing very creative. More of a documentary angle. I must admit... 20mm, 8 seconds, f/11, on a tripod, is fairly straightforward. It is interesting to see the other nice photos on this thread. Very good!

    Looking for the Artwork

Actually did some photography this week.

A decommissioned church in town had a poster outside advertising an exhibition inside. I was curious to see what was on show. I could not see any paintings or sculptures. Then it clicked. The art was comprised of monochrome, mono tone panels, in place of the paintings which once decorated the church. Oh well I guess doing art needs to be made easy and inclusive.

Was there entrance fee? Then maybe they decided that this is easiest way to collect money..

    Reflections

I took an afternoon walk along the nearby canal, shooting all of the usual subjects along the way, such as bridges, barges and bankside foliage. The light was bright and harsh which resulted in a set of unimpressive images that aren't really worth sharing. However, in addition to those subjects, a number of reflections in the waters of the canal caught my eye, the bright colours and gentle ripples on the water giving an impressionistic effect in some of these that I quite like.

All images taken with the X-T50 and Sigma 18-50 f/2.8, a lens I don't really get on with and possibly adding to my dissatisfaction with the rest of the images, but I didn't feel like carrying anything better (i.e. heavier). Processed from individual raw files in Capture One Pro, they've had very little adjustment other than a 180 degree rotation, a slight lightening of the skies and the removal of the occasional leaf in the water that broke the illusion.

Nice, these small ripples and floating stuff make these images interesting.

    Evening walks

bit slow with photography lately, yesterday discovered from camera photos I made 3 weeks ago and haven't even downloaded to computer. But this week took my OM-3 into evening walks and attempted some monochrome shooting with blue tint added for mood. SOOC photos.

Spooky. I can immagine some wolves lurking out of sight in some of these.

No wolves, but bear was sighted in that area in May. Probably youngster, lost in city.

More like a grim office block. I feel some drastic cropping might make some nice semi abstract images.

Well Nigel, not all of us have access to Toscana, full of sun, green and mideval churches and small towns. I will revisit this site under better weather conditions, other than cold and grey and with dark light. I think it's extraordinary and very modern building and architectural aspect is what attracted me to it. I think it's very unusual for developer to build condo other than regular tall and square structure (imho).
    Others may think differently ...

The building is cool/interesting, the way you've framed it accentuates the architecture, and the B&W is very appropriate. Looks good! Also, thanks for the "ping" in regard to subject matter. You've jogged my mind. I will keep an eye out for "building shots/perspectives" in the upcoming weeks! :-)
