Classic shots. So real and atmospheric.

Excellent shot. The light, shadows, the scene.
There is some drama in the sky and we see a ship in the famous passage. Excellent.
Great capture, robber, athlete and travelman together, to say nothing about tiger.
I like first shot, those night streets are full of mystery and secrets.
View in second shot is great.
I like first shot, nice contrast between lit church and this dark background.
In second shot it's interesting to see how buildings from 3 very different eras are side by side.
Oh, those clear and bright days after snowfall, the best...
I'd love to see more of this building as reference in last shot, it's hard to get sense of scale or distance right now.
I like processing of this photo, seems to fit very well.
Nice to see you back on this thread.
Yes, it is that time of the year again. We had some snow in the Apennines, but it has mostly disappeared. My pick is this first shot.
What a nice set. The "heat" haze picture is weird. I rather like this empty landscape shot. I have a weakness for flat empty landscapes.
We think of this part of the world as being hot and sunny. Looks like a rainy day in London.
I am waiting on a Hernia operation. The Hospital is not as elegant as this place.
I hear the environment and grounds help a person to recover sooner. Hope it will go well for you. It will be next year, I reckon?
I've been struck down with FluVID for most of the week, so it was good to finally feel well enough to get out for a couple of miles walk through Duxbury Woods this afternoon. The weather was not ideal, in fact it poured down, but I figured the woods might give me some shelter from the rain, but the rain had other ideas.
Camera wise, I'd decided to keep it simple and just take the O-M1 paired with the Olympus 12-100 f/4 that has previously joined me in blizzards and rainstorms at the top of many a Lakeland mountain over the years (along with the E-M1 MKII), so I figured a few hours walking in the woods would not pose a challenge to this combination. I even dug out my aging screw fit circular polariser as I suspected the wet surfaces of the trees and whatever leaves remained on them would be reflecting like crazy, which, as it turns it, they were.
All images taken handheld. Interesting point about that, either I've got a lot shakier over the last few years, or the IBIS in my O-M1 isn't a patch on what was implemented in the E-M1 MKII. That said, my O-M1 was bought quite cheaply as a somewhat battered looking used example, so perhaps the IBIS in this specific camera isn't up to spec?
I was quite surprised to see this green, gloopy looking bit of a swamp in the middle of the woods.
Legend has it that Bevis saved the lives of the Standish family when Duxbury Hall burned down in 1869, alerting them to the danger by barking. The only problem with that story is that, according to the inscription next to his statue, Bevis died in 1842, so unless it was the ghost of Bevis doing the barking, it's not really possible. I'm always glad to see his memorial still undamaged and in place beside the river. The original, much grander memorial that preceded this one was built beside the hall and got stolen!
The path this side of the river passes through a number of deep bogs (deep enough to steal your boots at least), but a number of boardwalks have been built over the worst. However, I'm no carpenter, but I suspect these could do with a tiny bit of maintenance.
I like the colours and the sweep of the Yarrow in this shot, but I should have moved a little to my left to separate the sapling in the foreground from the far bank. Mind you by this point, my Paramo jacket looked like it was holding more water than it was keeping out and lingering weariness from the FluVID was taking its toll, so I'm just happy to have got out and taken a few images.
Colourful Chaos
Fab results despite your flu remains and nasty weather. There are so many excellent
Shots here that it's very hard to select faves.
