    Ayr

I was in Ayr for family reasons. I did take advantage of the one morning when it did not rain to explore a little. I just had my phone.

The first has great light, I like the branch in the sea pic but what is that crazy white building?

    Saturday morning

The sun appeared this morning from behind the grey, so I took a stroll along the lane.

Every time I pass this field corner I eye it up for a nice composition but find it difficult. This time I actually had a camera with me and the sun was shining, but still struggled.

    P2076115.jpg

A little further along this unusual plant grows at the side of the road. It's Daphne laureola, a british native of shady woodland on limestone. Not actually rare, but not every-day either. There's just the one plant, and I fear it will succumb to over zealous verge trimming sooner or later. Missed focus on the first, but it gives an idea of how the whole plant look - unremarkable.

    P2076116.jpg

The flowers are just opening, but unlike most daphnes, there is no scent 😞

Nice northern wintery light in these. I only visited Ayr town once while we were living up there, on a cold windy day, but this looks much more pleasant than what I remember! Were you there over Burn's Night? I imagine it's quite big in Ayr.

There's a big 'PRIVATE' notice on the gate... I think the ewes will be lambing soon. But yes, it's tempting.

    Winter variety

Great White Frozen North (Toronto, Canada) is in a grip of winter with the longest spell (a month) of freezing temps { - 15C to - 25C (5F to -13F)}. Global warming at it's best.

This is has a weird visual effect. When I came across the picture, my eye was drawn to the Mona Lisa. it took a few seconds for the mannequin to register, and the again a few seconds for the man on the round column to appear.

Maybe a close in portrait of the ram, might make a good picture with those lovely horns.
